  • Bernard Berrian - 104 mph

The Minnesota Vikings' offense doesn't just burn defenders -- it burns rubber.

Two days after star running back Adrian Peterson was cited for driving 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, his teammate, wide receiver Bernard Berrian, was ticketed for topping the century mark on an area interstate, according to media reports in the Twin Cities.

On Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that Berrian was cited Monday night for driving 104 mph in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 694 in suburban Oakdale, according to reports.

Berrian was pulled over at 9:38 p.m. local time Monday in a southbound lane of the highway, according to reports.

The state trooper who pulled Berrian over said he was polite and cooperative, and the trooper apparently did not realize he had stopped a member of the Vikings, WCCO-TV reported.

Last Saturday, Peterson was cited for driving 109 mph in a 55 mph zone in Edina.

"It is a little bit odd, but on the other hand, I like the publicity about it, because it sort of tells people here are the ramifications, first of all," Capt. Matt Langer of the Minnesota State Patrol said, according to WCCO-TV. "And you're going to get caught."

Video footage of Peterson's traffic stop Nov. 28 shows he reacted with disbelief when he was informed how fast he was going, according to media reports.

"How fast you think you were going?" an Edina police officer asked him, according to The (Minneapolis) Star Tribune. When Peterson replied, "85," the officer replied, "You think you were 30 over the limit? I got you going 109."

After giving Peterson the ticket, the officer told Peterson, "Good luck to you tomorrow," according to the report.

Hahaha, wow, seriously? It's either bad luck or a side bet for sure. So Jared Allen will do 125 next week?

and the trooper apparently did not realize he had stopped a member of the Vikings, WCCO-TV reported.
          And:

After giving Peterson the ticket, the officer told Peterson, "Good luck to you tomorrow," according to the report.
I mean I guess the dispatcher may have told him who he was after he called it in, but still.

Why add these details in the first place? Then why not explain them?

Journalism is still a college major, right?

Now if only people took it.

funny thing about Adrian Peterson is that he was probably doing well over 109, but if he was charged with going double the speed limit (110) he would have been arrested.

The way I read this, you thought there was a contradiction? That first quote was in reference to the officer stopping Berrian; the second quote was about the different incident they referred to in the article, where they pulled over AP.

The state trooper who pulled Berrian over said he was polite and cooperative, and the trooper apparently did not realize he had stopped a member of the Vikings, WCCO-TV reported.

Apologies if I read your post wrong and just explained the obvious, though.
