  • Ed Reed debating retirement..

Sad news, I am a little biased but dude just had 2 picks tonite basically. I don't know where this is coming from, he can set a lot of records if he plays like 5 more years. I think Ray will have a talk and fire em up in the off season, he's just a little down, and rightfully so.

    Link:
Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed said Saturday that he's "50-50" on whether he will retire or return to the Baltimore Ravens for another NFL season.

    Say it aint so Ed

            Perhaps he should retire then.

Enough of this "debating". Just go off and do it. If you want to play tug of war with the media for attention then perhaps you aren't a team player. A team player sticks with a team through winning and losing. Since Ed Reed is getting a little older he decides that he wants to use the media to threaten retirement.

By all means, retire and do everyone else a favor. Hope he takes Ray Lewis with him.

Would be pretty Barry Sanders like, still young and the best at their position.

Looks like you're trying to make life easier for the Browns! Why don't you make it a trifecta and get rid of Ngata too!

                  Ngata isn't old.

                  Ray Lewis is old.

Ed Reed is older than Ngata.

Ed Reed wants to use the media to hold his team in limbo by claiming he is "50/50" on returning. I say, the team should decide for him and put him to the retired list.

That way he doesn't have to sit and debate like Brett Favre.

You are the of the biggest nay saying, negative hater, cry babies on this site. If u can't appreciate Ed Reed as a player cause ur team is worthless, you shouldn't cry about it on the net. Like the other poster said, you're just hoping this helps ur Browns (Soon to be w/o Josh Cribbs) out.

Ed Reed and Ray Lewis better than anyone on the Browns D, nuff said

I have stated several times that the Ravens should not even play in the AFC North. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Browns. Ed Reed stated he is 50/50 on returning next year. So, with the draft coming up what should his team do? After all, he is the leader in the defensive secondary for them. Should they draft a player to replace him because he might not be back. If he is coming back they'll grab a reciever probably. But hey, he might be gone.

Ed Reed is holding his team in limbo just like Brett Favre. Brett Favre was going to retire, so his team drafted a QB to replace him. Favre changed his mind. So that player sat on the bench. Then, Favre said he was going to retire. Then, months later said "nevermind". His team traded him away, he played a year and said, "I'm retiring". Then, this year he came back YET again.

Right now, Ed Reed said he is 50/50 on retiring. That leaves his team having to change their entire plans in the draft because one of their superstars cares more about himself than his team.

He made the statement after a tough loss, it's not like the draft is next Sunday and they are freaking out, if ANYTHING, the team can now plan for a replacement if they need to, OR - if not, they let him heal up and he's back. Favre waited forever to announce it, and they announced his desire to comeback at the worst time too, Reed isn't doing either, calm down

Reed just put his team on notice that he is a coin flip away from retiring.

                            50/50

So, now, the ball is in the team's court of what to do. If a player is angry about a loss then he voices that the game bugged him and he is upset about it. The player does not go off and say "We lost, I'm not going to play anymore.". That's why the team should make up his mind for him and simply retire him. He changes his mind, they'll get tons of draft picks from some stupid team.

I don't see why the guy would think about retiring when he's still one of the best. Even old guys like Dawkins and Champ are still playing.
