  • The playoffs this year....

    suck.

I mean, none of them have even been competitive. With the exception of the Packer/Cardinal game last weekend....every game has been a blow-out.

Frankly, if you are not a fan of the winning team...the playoffs this year are frankly...kinda boring, which really sucks.

I love football-good football-and I just don't think this is good football entertainment.

I mean, I want close, nail-biting, last minute FG, come from behind victories. I want to see great defensive stands, acrobatic catches...football heroics.

What's been played out here in the last two weeks isnt even close to that

      Agreed.

But I have a question for us Broncos fans. Would you rather see a nail biter in this next game with the Chargers winning, or a blowout that results in a Jets win? ...since I know a lot of Broncos fans would hate to see the Chargers win it all, or even get to the Super Bowl. And considering they've got a good track record against the Colts...

Good thing Denver didn't make the playoffs. We get embarrassed enough during the regular season, I couldn't withstand another Colts-Broncos type playoff rape.

yeah, I wanna see the Chargers get humiliated, and I'm sure for certain fans of rival teams that got blown out...theres a little warm feeling in their hearts their rivals got blown out and humiliated in the playoffs.

For the rest of us fans that have no connection to most of these games...its bad football entertainment.

I was really hoping the Card/Saints game would be a good one. Two similar teams, offensive shoot-out...and it wasnt even close.

Beyond watching Ray Rice run all over the Patriots, and the come back almost win by the Packers...the playoffs this year have been very disappointing and un-entertaining.

          That being said...GO JETS!

Seriously. I've been BORED OUT OF MY MIND every weekend other than the Arizona - Green Bay game, and even that one was a sleeper until the 2nd half.

Jets v Chargers game isn't too bad right now though. Unless of course they score before half.

              It's a snoozefest so far.

I think next week's games will be good, the higher seed just seems to be winning right now and it's extremely boring......

pretty terrible at times yeah... i mean, a lot of non-competitive blowouts, with very little happening for long phases even then. Indy game last night being an example, the 2 TDs scored inside the last 2:10 of the 1st half. Pats game last week was another example, Baltimore put up 24 in the 1st quarter and did hardly anything for the rest of the game bar hanging on and grinding out the victory. Not to mention the incredibly one sided affair in the Favredome, even that game was punctuated by long spells of nothing happening.

GB/Ari has been the lone redeemer, and how.
Manning Fatigue (noun): The act of being sick as hell of watching a HOF qb take half of forever to decide what to do and just wishing he'd make up his mind.

That is why I am PRAYING for a Colt vs. saints SuperBowl. The 2 best teams, the two best QBs, we as fans deserve it.

It will TOTALLY SUCK MONEY BALLZ if the Jets and Minnesota make it. All we will hear about for two weeks is old fart Farve this and NYJ defense that, and Rex Ryans BIG MOUTH this, and the Purple boys 4 time Losers or the SB That. It would be bad.

yep. The Jets upset the Chargers made the playoffs.

It's sad though, that it was the last game of the weekend, and every game before that was a snooze fest.

Because there are only 3 games left, all kinds of sub-plots will be coming out this week.

Personally-just cause I like irony- I'd love the see the Jets win vs. Indy. Teach them to lay down during a regular season game and let the other team win.

The Jets come in and win against Indy, I will laugh my ass off.

I want to see New Orleans win it all.

Norv Turner getting fired would make it even more fantastic.

I have always said, since the day it was implemented, that free-agency does not create parity.

It does NOT make the teams more competitive with each other. What it does do is make the league more dynamic.

Dynamic in the sense that this year's champion could be next year's bottom-feeder. This year's bottom-feeder could be next year's champion.

That's not parity. That's just anarchy.

The teams are just as unbalanced as they ever were before. Who is on top changes rapidly, but that doesn't mean the teams are any more balanced than they used to be.

Thus, crappy playoffs - except now you don't know who is on which team and your favorite players are probably not going to be on your team next season. It alienates the fans.

"Oh, wait, the Jets are good this year? Who is their quarterback this season?"

"Wait, wait, wait! I thought the Steelers were good! They won last year, did their players all get free agency?"

It confuses the fans, and alienates them because they don't get a chance to see "their players" each season for their team.

It usually takes me months to figure out our roster each season - and even longer to figure out everyone else's.

The move for "parity" has done anything but create it.

All it's done is create an awful lot of movement. It hasn't changed the balance of teams at all. If anything, it's imbalanced the teams more than ever - and at a rapid pace.

That's why the playoffs suck. It's not just isolated to this season. It's been happening for a while now.
