Its not the same scenario as say, Lebron James walking off the court in last year's Eastern finals, because the super bowl is much more chaotic at that point. Manning shouldn't have this held against him.
I hate when the media goes LOOKING for a bad angle on a simple gesture to make headlines. Like the quote above me says, they transform the field in a matter of min after the clock shows 0's, I would run off the field if I lost, Peyton is fine, he's still a class act

Back to the topic, he was just pissed. I don't blame him, he had a bad game.
There's two things I want to do while I know you on this message board...

#1 Convince you that Rivers is not as bad as you think
#2 Shrink the size of your signature

Sorry if you were offended, didn't mean to take it off topic, but the subject at hand has much to do with what I pointed out.

Not just Rivers, happens to everyone, even LeBron... the media at the end of the day wants something to gossip about and they love to bring down the big names, such as Tiger, some deservingly so, some not.

In Peyton's defense, watch the end of the game again, as soon as the clock hits 0:00 you will see tons of Saints players, staff and media storm the 50 yard line blocking Peyton and Drew, so Peyton just left.
Rivers is deciding to play bad, just to see how it feels.

I don't know the true Peyton, only his family members and teammates do... but the guy has built a great reputation, he is a decent person in my mind.

He should have shook Brees' hand... that is unsportsmanlike, I understand the field was crowded faster than the Colt's hopes died... but still, you're Peyton Manning.

On a sort of off topic note, would the Bronco nation be carrying pitchforks if it were Rivers storming off the field?

I think so... for some reason insert Rivers in any bad situation and it is some how viewed as cannibalism.
I don't like the Colts either, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious.

Two years ago when Bill Belichick left the field after losing to the Giants without shaking anyone's hand, he was SKEWERED by everyone. People called him classless and a crybaby. Why does Manning get a free pass?

I rarely agree with licence_to_kill, but he's right in this instance and so is powderblues. It's blatant hypocrisy.

It's all part of the usual cycle where a person is built up and then torn down. It is really a non-issue.

Well he was upset, but he could had shook hands with Drew Brees.
In fact, none of the Colts shook the hands of the Saints it seems.

Well the Saints were all celebrating rather than looking for the Colts to congratulate
them. It's not like the NBA Finals or the World Series, they rarely meet after the
game to shake each others hands.

I don't blame Peyton at all... I'm sure he was disgusted in himself as I would've been if I threw a game ending pick 6 in the Superbowl. Besides, he called up Drew afterwards to congratulate him which was very classy and respectable of Peyton.

But their not wrong, if it was Rivers people would have a field day with it.
And when I watched it didn't seem like the Saints were interested in shaking hands with the Colts.

                    LO Neal on onside kick:
"By not kicking that ball deep, you missed a big play on your special teams by Sproles, you took the ball out of Philip Rivers hands, which would have had a minute and something left, and also you took away an opportunity for Kaeding to redeem himself"

"It was times when we were getting so many penalties that I would look up and I was just like, "Is it not our time?" It was just one of those feelings."- Gates

When was the last time he did it? I don't remember him doing it all the time.

I would figure if he did it all the time, then it wouldn't be a big deal that someone thought was worthy of an article.

Rivers is probably still one of the most disliked QBs in the league even though he's toned it down a lot.

If you go back a few seasons ago he was really disliked.

It's not hard to see why Bronco fan's would want to give him extra crap. He's earned it, although I'll admit I respect his skills and I think he's almost gotten to the point where I don't think hes such a dbag.
