How ironic that the background for this article is a gigantic ad for alcohol.

it's kinda funny how the story is written..."...driving while stoned..." instead of "driving while under the influence of _________.", or "...arrested for suspicion of..."

Just because you have red eyes, slurred speech, or flushed face doesn't exactly indicate you're stoned...good indicators, but not the end all and be all. Could be any number of things causing that...

Never met anyone stoned that had slurred speech...unless of course they had a mouthful of fruit loops or something...but then again, it's been a while since I've ran in that crowd.

I highly doubt he was under the influence during a game...but that would explain his handful of plays last year other than being retarded. As far as I remember...I could barely play a pinball machine, let alone play a game of football...I wouldn't be able to remember what the hell was going on, and wouldn't be able to stop laughing.

            LMAO.

Chris Simms = The Best Backup QB in NFL History

And to think that some people wanted Simms to start over Kyle Orton last season

I am sorry but probably half of our roster might be consuming the substance. Guys like Marcus Thomas, Jarvis Moss... Come on. I am against it, but it did not prevent Percy Harvin from becoming offensive rookie of the year. It's not like Chris Simms is a rare example in the NFL. I won't even rule out Kyle Orton. Simms just made the mistake of being caught.

                There's a difference.

Guys like Marcus Thomas and Jarvis Moss don't have a daddy that's a big name in the NFL world.

Phil Simms is shaking his head right now.

In addition, you know it's a lot different when your own head coach (McDaniels last season) constantly labels Chris Simms as the "consummate professional". Consummate means "perfect" or "superior".

Smoking weed and getting caught is not what a consummate professional does. Let's not forget that Chris Simms is still an employee of the National Football League.

What people do on their own time is none of my business and I'm not against marijuana. However, driving under the influence of ANYTHING that can impair you is dangerous and stupid. I hope he gets what he deserves.

I doubt smoking cannabis diminished his skills in the NFL. He was never really good to begin with. I'm all for legalization of Marijuana but it is still irresponsible to drive while under the influence although alcohol has a much bigger impact on your responses and overall control. It's a shame, the man should have used public transportation like I do when I go to the city and have a good time. Much safer that way and no one ever gets endangered.

With his pregnant wife with him! I'm not against marijuana, to me its like alcohol, I won't use them but if people want to use them in a controlled manner go for it, just don't try and go out for a drive and risk the lives of others. So glad we have Brady Quinn now. It always seemed like Simms didn't give a crap after Kyle won the starting job and it showed when he had to play.

I was more joking about the way he played when filling in for KO. I just imagine him being blazed and seeing linebackers the size of small automobiles shooting the gap.

I however agree that it’s very irresponsible to be driving while under the influence of anything. Simms’ does play for the NFL, in which he is held to a higher standard. Fair or not, that’s just the way the joint rolls er ….

I was thinking more that it explained his holding the ball for too long. When you are under That influence it seems everything slooooooooooowwwwwws dowwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnn.

He probably saw them coming but since they seemed to be strolling he figured he had time to get rid of the ball.

Then when he got off the field he went looking for some Doritos.
