I've come to the conclusion that Elway created Shanny's legacy. If it weren't for Elway, Shanny wouldn't be much of anything. I think they made a good move in finding another coach. He just wasn't getting it done.

It's a lot more reasonable to say that Shanahan created Elway. Shanahan won a Super Bowl in San Francisco and went to the AFC Championship Game with Jake Plummer of all people. Elway is the greatest Bronco of all time, but did nothing without Shanahan.
