  • Shanahan vs. Cutler; and the Broncos

The two will be going head to head this weekend, and people will be watching

No matter how much you may try to forget it, hate it, step on it or pretend like it has nothing to do with the way bronco nation feels... The Cutler and Shanny watch will always be on.

As hard as it is to stomach, the bears are 4-2 and skins are 3-3 while the broncs are sitting at 2-4 people are always wondering what may have been.

Please don't post if you're going to start a cutler/shanny war.

Here's an interesting article about the two big pieces of broncos history:

Still crazy to think about so much hinged on the final 3 games of the 08' that turned the broncos into what they are now. Every game matters

Things haven't changed much, look at Shanahan coaching the 32nd total defense in the league.

I get what you're saying but who is to say that if we had all those guys we would be the all star team right now? People just fit well into their own systems. Jay has one of the best QB coaches in the annals of NFL History while Shanny is considered one of the most brilliant minds in the annals of NFL History. It doesn't surprise me that Shanny and Cutler are doing well. Shanny has a great boarderline HOF Quarterback while Cutler has a genius OC and some great talent around him to boot. I think that Denver can potentially be just as good as both teams. Orton looks like he is on fire and our young WR corp just looks like it can grow better and better. I question much of McD's tactics but I don't feel that he ruined our team. Give our team time to gel. Everything makes it's way out.

If i'm not mistaken, they went 3-4 defense and the skins won three out of three games on the defense alone this season.

Saints had a playmaking defense last season and look where that got them. We'll see how the 3-4 of denver compares if we can get over the 2-4 hump

I never said we would be an all-star team if we had both cutler and shanahan. I'm just saying we may not even be talking about McD/Orton/receivers if the broncos won one more game in 08'.

Could've been better, could've been worse. Who knows. Point is, everyone will be watching the three teams and compare them until McD/Cutler/Shanny goes down

I'm excited for Shanny, and hope he does well in Washington. I hate Cutler and hope he does terrible in Chicago.. Does it mean that is going to happen? Not likely, Cutler will do fine where he goes and I feel that our team can do the same in general

Cutler needs to learn how to read a blitz. That's why in denver we were almost always in max protection.

This should be posted on the 'Other NFL Teams' section.

However, I'm looking forward to watching the game, and I'm pretty sure that's all that needs to be said about it because neither one of them are members of the Broncos organization and probably never will be, again.

You post a thread about Cutler vs Shanny yet don't expect people to turn this into a hate thread? Get real.

You're right. The OP should have anticipated how insecure the mcd supporters are, so much so that they can't even be interested in a match-up between two prominent ex Broncos and get defensive about just bringing up a game between the two.

Or hear me out on this one...

They're not part of this team anymore so they belong in the Other Teams section and not in the General Discussion?

Shanny will always be remembered as the HC of our SB teams. Cutler? He played 3 whole seasons for us and I could care less about him honestly. He's the enemy now and can only get in our way of winning our next SB. The Broncos have moved on from these 2, I'm proud to follow in the next Chapter of History. Let it go already....
