That's not how you light a fire under the butt of someone with McNabb's accomplishments. That's a Hall of Fame QB right there. Four (or is it five) championship games? One Super Bowl - and with not a lot of talent around him. He carried that team for a decade.

It isn't, although several reports are saying it's a tactic to ignite McNabb's desire. To be more specific and for that prior sentence to sound less weird, he wants to ignite McNabb's desire to improve. Hence the benching, hence JaMarcus Russell trying out.

I don't see any sort of point in doing it because it alienates your starting QB that you traded away a third-round pick for, but hey. Whatever works for Shanahan.

I'll be totally surprise if McNabb is a Skin next year. I think Shanny is looking at one of the top QB's in the draft to be his Franchise QB. McNabb is playing the same role as KO.

Think they may get on the phone with Chicago I think there is a QB there he likes. McNabb and a first for Cutler?? Just speculating it's probably doubtfull it would happen but crazier things have happened like the Redskins benching McNabb with 2 minutes left for Rex freaking Grossman!

i agree but it will be hard for JR to follow his rules i think. Russell will have to want to put in the work, which he didn't before (from the reports).

If Shanny trades for Cutler... I will have lost all faith in him learning from his mistakes in Denver. Shanny is a good coach, bad GM. Trading for Cutler would further prove this theory... The kid hasn't matured one bit since Shanny traded up to draft him in Denver.
