A confrontation between Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress and receiver Percy Harvin grew so heated Friday afternoon that coaches and players were forced to separate them to prevent a physical exchange, according to team sources.

The confrontation, which was first reported by The (Minneapolis) Star Tribune as a heated argument between the two, occurred during a light Friday afternoon practice, Harvin's first of the week after suffering a sprained ankle last Sunday against the New England Patriots. Harvin was seen limping badly during the portion of practice open to reporters.

According to sources, Childress questioned Harvin's effort during the practice. When Harvin took exception, Childress suggested Harvin submit to further testing on the ankle. The debate escalated and "was as close to physical as you can get," according to the source.

After the two were separated, according to sources, a teammate told Harvin: "You just did what a lot of us have been wanting to say for years."

I agree. He saved his butt last year by bringing in Favre... but I've never heard one coach be criticized by so much speculation of having no respect in the locker room. Especially because it seems that the players don't think he is good at his job.

Oh boy is it ugly in Vikeland. Honestly, i thought Chilly started losing the lockeroom when he started giving Favre special treatment, but it was overlooked because they were winning. I said last year that if Minny didn't at least make it to the Super Bowl in the 2010-11 season, that Chilly was out.

Now you cut Moss, wasted a 3rd, lost the lockeroom, and got in a verbal fight with Harvin. He's done.

I would have attitude problems as well watching Childress destroy a very good team.

Percy is a beast, look at this numbers.

childress is as good as gone he is a tool. Is it just me or whenever that guy does a press confrence do any of you find him extremley annoying.
