Ok, so I keep hearing about how important Manning is to the Colts, we all know he is the reason that team is successful... If he misses an extended period of time this year it could potentially be long enough that he doesn't get rolling like he can, or he gets reinjured to the point of missing the remainder of the season. If this happens there is a strong chance they end up with the #1 overall pick in the draft with a chance to draft Andrew Luck to be the heir apparent to Peyton Manning.

Luck is already supposed to be the greatest QB prospect in 20 years, imagine if he has Manning to learn from for two to three years before he takes over as a starter... I truly hope this doesn't happen

I do see what your saying and yes it is a scary thought but I'm sure you know as most of us do that it wouldn't happen. Even if he did sit out the entire season they still wont be the first overall pick there are much worse teams out there (Bengals).

I think he'll go back for his senior year or pull an Eli Manning.

Living in Indiana I hope to God this doesn't happen.....

Colts fans already think Peyton is God's gift to humanity, I can't even imagine the nut huggery if they drafted Luck.

If the Colts get a high draft pick, they need to take a big position of need. The Colts are terrible without Peyton Manning. Maybe they could take a QB third round or so. I wouldn't use the first overall pick on a QB if my current QB is elite. (Even if he retires in 2-3 years.)

(But then again, how often do teams have the first overall pick and have an elite QB?)

If the colts had the #1 pick Luck wouldn't want to go there and he would get traded to Denver

Luck is a senior this year :thumb:

And scary thought indeed, but they're not the worst team in the league without 18.

I guess I read it wrong.

According to his espn page he is a senior. But, the description must not have been updated. States that he is a junior.

Luck will go to either Seattle, Buffalo, or Cincy. Take it to the Bank!

Doubt it. I'm thinking Miami. That team's an even bigger mess than any of those you mentioned.

Highly doubt it. They were 7-9 last year and got better by having a healthy Brandon Marshall and adding Reggie Bush. They might be bad but not #1 pick bad.

Your starting Qb was what, 0 for 5 with 2 picks the other night? The Bengals could easily struggle all year and fall into that #1 pick spot - especially in that Division with the Ravens, Steelers, and the up & coming Browns.

Reggie Bush has never been asked to carry the entire load before and in Miami, he will be. I see him and the Dolphins struggling.

Preseason play doesn't mean anything. I remember a Broncos running back fumbling three times in a single game in the preseason. He ended up running for over 1500 yards his rookie season. I'd love it if the Browns did something. But, the facts are that the Browns are coming off a 5-11 season where they fired their head coach, have a new defense, and a new offense. Further, they no longer have an offensive coordinator (the head coach is performing both duties). Rookie head coach, new defensive scheme, new offensive scheme. That means that the team will struggle. Possibly not even matching last years 5 wins.

The majority of the miscues on offense on Sunday were on the receivers. Both Green and Simpson had three drops, and one of Dalton's picks was off of a Green bobble. It's a young offense, and it's going to make mistakes to be sure. But it's not going to be that way all year.

Of all of the rookie QBs out there, I'm glad to have Dalton more so than I would any of the rest.

Will we lose this year? Yeah, probably. I have no illusions about this season. However, if you look at our early schedule, we could have four wins before the bye. It's kind of weird how things could work out.

As for Miami? You're forgetting that Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams were the identity of that offense for years. They're both gone. Bush ain't no bell cow, and the new guy hasn't been making noise. And as for your division argument? Look who has to play the Pats and Jets twice a year, not to mention a Buffalo team that looks like it's starting to improve. I wouldn't want to be a Dolphins fan this year.

All those years of having to carry the Colts finally catchin up with Peyton and his neck. If he can't go this year I really could see them in the "suck for Luck" race but I don't see Peyton missing any games this year.
