Vick had the ball, Vick threw the ball. Vick was picked up and driven to the ground.

If that was any other QB, it would have been a flag as well. I cannot stand Vick. Every second he plays in the NFL is a farce. Nevertheless, the right call.
You dont make any sense because all of us stated we know this is a preseason game, its the rules of the game that are pissing us off. If its called in a preseason game its going to be called in regular season, when it does your "its only preseason" excuse wont matter.

That play would have resulted in a penalty last year.

It would have been a penalty the year before that as well.

      It is nothing new.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

The rule used to be if the defensive player can't stop it is not penalty because he is close enough...now it's if he is a centimeter away it's an automatic flag. Also if Cutler or Orton was hit like that there would for sure be no flag on the play.

            Beautiful hit, shameful flag.

Beyond shameful. The hit was picture-perfect. Refs are just paranoid and the league is pushing to essentially make QBs untouchable.

I know there are plenty of opinions on Rahim Moore's hit (which I thought was not dirty at all), but what many forget about is that Dumerville was called on roughing the passer when he PULLED UP.

C'mon, NFL. Don't turn this into flag football.

Wrong call by the officials, it's obvious there is nothing illegal there.

But I have to say, last year Vick got beaten like a drum many times and there were no flags because "he is a running back-style QB". This is no excuse. You can be treated like a RB when you scramble not when you just break out of the pocket to avoid a sack or to find better passing options. It was frustrating, especially because you touch P. Manning's helmet and it's a penalty.
Set the flag and carry on, carry on into unknown...with honour we will not walk away.

way too much goes into "protecting" players these days. Its nonsense.

I like the penalties on defenseless receiver hits, but the problem is they are called on guys who are running with the ball

the McGahee/Clark hit from the 08afcc game is now illegal..as McGahee's biggest fan, he was running with the ball..his responsibility to decide what style he will use, and to protect his head. He chose to try and truck Clark, and put his head in a bad place..simple as that. should've tried to spin off the hit and keep his head out of the way I guess.

Harrison's hits on Massequah and Cribbs should not have been called either, they were running with it. So basically 2 of the hits out of the 4 that caused the panic were perfectly fine
Suh on Cutler..do I even have to say

and the Collie hit vs Eagles..he took 2 steps

gladly they took away the head slap penalty..that was ridiculous..makes me wonder what football really is to these clowns.

I remember seeing atl CB Grimes make a great pick vs NO, but the WR turned around into him so it was a PI and I thought...football.

Collie turns around into a receiver vs NE to draw a flag and gets praised for a "smart veteran move"..football

Trent Cole forces Manning to fumble but slaps his head accidentally..fumble negated 15 yd penalty...football.

Cutler dives in front of a Vikings corner for more yards at the end of the run, he is criticized by announcers for NOT sliding...football.

Vick takes criticism from analysts for having "bad habits" of actually trying to make more yards when contact approaches in FOOTBALL...football

                this is nonsense

thats the worst part of it. Its like they hate Vick because he actually runs and doesn't slide, its pathetic..like they want him to get injured and "learn a lesson"

they love Peyton because he is the prototype pocket QB..It doesn't even make sense that they hate Vick because of all the fans and money he draws in..you'd think those money whores running the league would love him.
