Report: Ryan Harris has herniated disc
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 26, 2011, 2:54 PM EDT

It sounds like we can cross off Ryan Harris as an option for Philadelphia’s shaky right tackle position.

Howard Eskin of 610 WIP and NBC reports Harris has a herniated disc in his back. The free agent pickup will have back surgery next week, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Once a fast-rising player on the Broncos, Harris has struggled to stay healthy the last few years. Early this month, he was viewed as the heavy favorite to start in Week One. Winston Justice isn’t healthy either, leaving King Dunlap at right tackle in the preseason.

Unfortunately, I called that from the start. I said he would get at least one big injury in Philly, didn't know it would come this year. I guess it's a blow to Philly?

No way do they trade Desean. Samuel is more plausible.

I'll make an addition to that comment...ABSOLUTELY No way do they trade Desean. Last I heard they were shopping Samuel.

Holy crap! That's bad news for my Eagles...Justice is like a revolving door and Dunlap not a guy you can trust.

Man, we got lucky... even with DTs we were "supposed" to take in the draft ( Marcell Darius, Nick Fairly, and Marvin Austin ) all getting injured.. I dont even feel sorry for other teams, because it happens to the Broncos just about every year. Even though its still tech. one game left for the starters today... I cant remember the last time the Broncos have made it through training camp/pre-season without a serious injury to a significant starter or contributor.

Too late because we already lost a "supposed" to be major contributor/starter to significant injury. Ty Warren for 4-5 months.. thats basically the season. mind as well put him on IR and give a waiver wire player his spot. Thats why i said I dont feel sorry for no team that lose players, because i cant remember the last time we went a whole off season without losing one ourselves.

                      Good Post :thumb:

This is the same way i felt when i seen Harris out.It seems Elway and Fox appears to have made the right moves on defense and offense and not bringing other players back.Just imagine another season with these two evaluating the team, draft, and free agency.I'm excited about the personal moves that has been made so far.I must admit i had my doubts at first, but it seems they are making good choices.

PS I hope Warren is not out for the season!

ADD JARVIS JENKINS to that list. He was looking like a stud in WASH. BUT, he tore his ACL. Out for the year.

He hasn't been hurt yet. This may be a learning year for Paea with Melton/Okoye ahead of him at the 3tech and Adams/Toeaina at NT.

I'm glad we stayed away from Paea as well if he can't crack the lineup over there,he probably couldn't crack it here as well.We needed a starter up the middle if we selected a DT in the draft.
