Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I'm wondering where you think the glaring holes are. I don't think that any hole on this team is really "glaring" anymore. There are some positions where we have young talent that needs to develop. That's about as far as I'd be willing to go.
Guard, Center, Safety and overall depth (specially CB, DT, LB, RB). I know you all addressed areas of concern. It is not as much as the holes but depth with your team.
I still think minus question marks on your line and QB, You are a year or two ahead of the Broncos where you are at.
How many W's do you think the Bengals get this season?
Why do you think they win on Sunday.
The Bengals' schedule is beyond easy. After we play you, we've got San Francisco and Buffalo at home, followed by a road game at Jacksonville and a home game against Indianapolis before the bye. We can take four of the next five, with the loss coming against Buffalo.
Coming out of the bye, we're at Seattle and at Tennessee, and I think those are both winnable games. After that is the roughest stretch of the season. Pittsburgh, at Baltimore, Cleveland, at Pittsburgh. I think we take two of those games at most, with only Cleveland as a likely win.
But the final quarter of the schedule is probably a 2-2 stretch. We host Houston, travel to St. Louis, host Arizona and Baltimore. St. Louis and Arizona both look vulnerable.
Realistically, I'd say seven wins. Optimistically, the playoffs aren't out of the question if we beat all the teams I think we should beat.
As for this Sunday, I think the Bengals can execute a game plan similar to what Oakland drew up on Monday. We've got the pass rush and the run stopping ability on defense, and we can move the ball on the ground offensively. If Dalton plays, we have a good chance to get off a surprise big play or two through the air.
I'm guessing Denver will get whistled for another five holds or so, Orton takes about that many sacks, we win the turnover battle by +2 and win by 10. That's just how I see it.

Hmm, i guess we'll see, you do have a good Front 7, but depends if we can get to Dalton or whoever your QB is.
And if we can contain your running game.
I think we'll bounce back but it won't surprise me if we did lose though.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you about depth at DT. It's Peko, Atkins and Sims, and I like Pat Sims. Yes, he cost us the Saints game with a really stupid penalty last year, but he's a solid run stuffer. I also like the depth at DE. When healthy, Frostee Rucker is a very good three-down end and Jonathan Fanene is underrated as a pass rusher. Believe me, we don't miss Odom.
As for cornerback, I don't think it's as bad as you think it is. We signed Clements, traded a guy we've now traded like three times for Jennings and we're getting PacMan back. Believe me, I won't be mad if we draft a corner early next year, but it's not the highest priority.
The biggest weakness on the team is safety depth. If Crocker or Nelson go down, we're forced to put in Taylor Mays or Gibril Wilson. I guess Wilson's alright, but if San Francisco thought THAT little of Taylor Mays, I'm seriously wonder what we have. That being said, a seventh-round pick in 2013 for the guy? Sure, roll the dice.
I'm also going to disagree with you on our linebacker depth. Maualuga, Lawson, Howard is the starting three with Keith Rivers returning from an injury and Brandon Johnson the next man up. Far as I'm concerned, we're five deep with solid talent. No, there's not a Ray Lewis or Brian Cushing in the bunch, but they do their jobs and they do them well.
Running back... yes. I think this is where the team could use a shot in the arm. Benson runs hard, but he's like the 31st most elusive back in the league. You won't get a lot of runs over 20 yards out of him. While I like the fact that he's usually quick to the hole and runs with discipline, I would like a homerun hitter there. Bernard Scott is a good change-of-pace back, but the comparisons to Chris Johnson aren't really warranted. I'd rather have Darren Sproles or Reggie Bush, TBH. I like Leonard. He's got the surest hands of the bunch and is a load to take down.

I was going to ask what happened to Keith Rivers, but your previous post answered that.
So obviously you have Gresham as one TE, did Chase Coffman make the team, what do you think of him? I still have nightmares of him back at Missouri tearing up my Buffs...
Also, glad to see Maulaluga at MLB. I wanted the Broncos to draft him very badly that year, so I've tried to keep tabs on him but Bengals don't get a whole lot of coverage in these parts.
Hoping for an entertaining game on sunday though!

Chase Coffman is on the practice squad because apparently he can't block. He got into a few games toward the end of last year and made some catches, but the coaching staff seems ready to move on.
We have three TEs: Gresham, Donald Lee (who we signed today, and I love it, for the record) and Colin Cochart, a rookie UFA from South Dakota State who is a beastly blocker. He had jaws dropping in camp. It was Cochert who really sprang Benson on that 39-yard run that sealed the game against Cleveland.

No Bengals coverage in Boulder?! Seriously?! that's criminal!
I remember the day Maualuga was drafted by the Bengals. I was with LordTrychon at a sports bar watching the draft when the Broncos traded a spot ahead of the Bengals in the second round. I was so pissed. But then you guys drafted Alphonso Smith and the Bengals took like a minute to hand in their card for Maualuga. I was laughing my ass off, I was so happy.
Good luck this Sunday, and cheers to an entertaining game.

Are you trying to tell me the Alphonso pick didn't pan out?!?
That draft was kind of depressing for me with what we could have had.
Instead of Moreno, Ayers, and Smith, we could have had Orakpo, Clay Matthews, and Rey Rey.
About Coffman, yea he didn't do a whole lot of blocking in college. He sure did burn us across the middle though.

i always lurk about the oppositions forums the week of the game to see what the other fans think... this is the first time i have found a fellow bengal fan...
so who dey...
i was a fan of the broncos back in the day ole terrell davis was a beast... champ bailey was and is one of the best cbs in nfl history. its sad to see that the broncos have fallen to the level of the bengals but thats life i guess.
so any way...
this weeks game is going to be a lot like the game a few years ago when stokley caught the tipped pass for a td in the last min. i think it could get sloppy.
it really all depends on how orton is going to handle the monsters that are going to be mauling the offensive line named dunlap and johnson.
