Because there aren't as many colors as things they can represent, most colors actually represent many different things. So you're probably right that lavender is actually for Lupus as well as being general cancer's color.

Is there anything that this league does that is actually altruistic in nature, or is everything an over hyped, attention seeking, vanity motivated, pile of WWE disingenuous, tax write off, public preception crap?

You know all about it and what a terrible country it is. Nothing but desolate wastes and fierce beasts.

That sucks! At least the outcome was good. :thumb:

I'll just say Lupus is very hard on my kid. We do what we can though.

Made by a of friend of mine at the games. Karen. The button lady!

Stuck, I think she has that book. There are lots of triggers. And they usually end up with a week or so in intensive care.

Its not only time to bring awareness, but to remember those loved ones who are no longer with us, and those who have survived this horrible disease.

For such a male dominated sport to bring awareness like that...is totally awesome.
                  ^^^ This.

I think it's awesome that these great big tough guys wear pink for a cause like this.

                  I really dislike pink, though.

I cant believe this is an actual thread. As others have said its a good thing for a good cause and the reason its the whole month of october is because its breast cancer awareness MONTH

Don't get me wrong football is the best around but curing illness especially one as deadly as cancer is a much more important. End of story for me I support it 100%

                        Wear the pink!!

I think we were in our 6-0 when Daniel Graham was on the cover of SI wearing the pink.

I tip my hat to a month of awareness. Cancer is an ugly disease. I hope we can end it someday.

It doesn't really make me any more aware of cancer than I already am, so I guess I find it unnecessary and slightly annoying. But i'm mostly indifferent toward the whole thing.

There are lots of diseases and other things that kill more people than breast cancer does. There are other types of cancer that kill more people than breast cancer does.

I just hope it doesn't get out of hand. I think someone implied that. First it's wearing this color for this awareness then another color another month. Then you're never wearing original uniforms. I really, really didn't like that MNF game in which half of everything was in Spanish. That was irritating.

Heart disease actually kills more women than all cancers combined. That would be a great cause to support. I am all for the players accessorizing with pink though- my great grandmother died of breast cancer- it's a nice way to pay tribute.
