Breast Cancer uniforms

I can't believe this is even a thread. People are bothered because a color that represents a deadly disease that affects 1 in 8 women doesn't go with the uniforms of their team? Really? Really? Grow up. I don't even care if I get negged for this. I for one have lost 2 women and another is infected to cancer. I am proud that these big tough guys are willing to wear pink to help out a cause that is so worth while. Heck, if they wore a color that was for a different cause every week, I wouldn't care.

These players are walking advertisements on TV and can do some good rather than torturing dogs or shooting themselves in the leg. I wouldn't care if they came out in all pink.

Wear Pink with Pride!!!!! (even if it doesn't match).

I dont care. It is nice gesture. Good over the top PR for the NFL. Trust me, that is all it is to Goodell.

This used to be a league that built it's reputation on physical violence- still makes it's money based upon that reputation.

Would you rather do 5 things and do them 1/5 as good for each, or put your full strength into doing 1 thing great at 100%.

This is probably why they only have 1 philanthropy.

You also can't complain about the color pink being unmanly, and in the same sentence talk about how the colors "just don't go together."

And who are you to decide, against the wishes of the NFL, all the players wearing pink, all the men who support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all the women who support it, and everyone else who isn't making a big deal out of this to be annoying, that this is not the time and place for it?

As an organization, the NFL is primarily male dominated. An alarmingly high number of these men have mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters that have suffered from BC. They do it to honor these women, who without them they would not be here. As well as to raise awareness. To me it is one of the better things Goddell has done. Other entertainment organization can do what they choose, but I commend the NFL on allowing the players to be human, to a certain degree. With 9/11 MLB dropped the ball on that and it was a major black eye on them. But it's baseball so who cares anyway? no one watches until October anyway.

Prostate Cancer awareness would actually be a great cause as like I said before the NFL is male dominated. My company dumps tons of money into research and awareness. Now just come up with a way for the world to openly recognize it, like a color, ribbon, button, catchy phrase like "save the ta-tas". Then assign a month to it and it happens. It's commercializing a very serious health issue, but that's the only way to make things like "regular screenings" the in thing for guys to do.

As a paying NFL football fan among many others- we all have a voice. Afterall, we pay everyones salaries.

Don't get me wrong, I support breast cancer awareness. The disease runs in my family as well as my girlfriends. She happens to have the same opinion as me.

I think it's a bit over the top as do others. Where do you draw the line?

I'm almost willing to acquiesce on the subject since I'm clearly in the minority but I still think it's way overblasted.
