  • Breast Cancer uniforms

First let me just say I love women and I hate cancer as much as the next human, but why does this have to be such a prominent part of the NFL????

I hate to sound insensitive but NFL is going to do this every season?

The wearing pink is distracting and UGLY. It's another case of a Goodell failure. This guy needs to go

I respect baseball for not allowing uni changes for 911. Next thing you know team colors and logos just won't mean the same as they used to. This is an important tradition to me

Even now when I watch last season's hilights I hate seeing pink this and pink that.

They should have a logo on the field and not dress up the players IMHO

Not to mention Pink is the one color that could be brutally hideous against the colors of all NFL teams -especially against ORANGE

NFL is great for supporting and helping finance problems of the times, but I honestly do not like being force fed pink on my NFL Sundays
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

I think it's cool, and am glad they do it...

    That's just me though.

Edit: they even have it on Madden now which I thought was really cool/realistic.

I wouldn't mind it for one week, but a whole month ......

Now we're talking about a near permanent change in every team's colors

25% of the every season, every team is wearing strange colors

Why not prostate cancer, or AIDS ?

After all we have 12 weeks left to meddle with

I say good for the NFL! There are female fans just the same as male fans (and while it's rare breast cancer affects men too) I think it's a good gesture and a great cause for the NFL to support. I think it'd be funny to see us wear a pink version of our uniform during breast cancer awareness month honestly (I did a sig for JakeandBake awhile back with Brady Quinn in a pink jersey)

Their Uniforms aren't bein altered... It's just the gloves, wristbands, and cleats. And only the players that want to do it, not everyone has pink on. I think they also have a logo on the field and the field goal padding is pink. It's not like everything is solid pink...

As an organization, the NFL is primarily male dominated. An alarmingly high number of these men have mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters that have suffered from BC. They do it to honor these women, who without them they would not be here. As well as to raise awareness. To me it is one of the better things Goddell has done. Other entertainment organization can do what they choose, but I commend the NFL on allowing the players to be human, to a certain degree. With 9/11 MLB dropped the ball on that and it was a major black eye on them. But it's baseball so who cares anyway? no one watches until October anyway.

They auction off all the gear after Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the proceeds go to the ACS and team charities.

I'll fine with a month of pink ribbons everywhere. It's a good cause.

What's more important, colors while someone is playing a GAME, or making people aware, or reminding them of breast cancer (something that can kill a human being).

                          Yeah I get that, but

So now where does it end? Does it end with Breast Cancer? Is it the single most deadly disease there is? (might be I dunno) If so, that would make some sense but I still don't agree with changing uniform colors.

                          Wear a ribbon? sure

But gloves, shoes etc it's too much and it's UGLY.

Why would I want to think about people dying of cancer when I'm about to watch grown men try and kill each other.

Too much a change in what the NFL is. One week is fine - one month is too much.

There are plenty of ways for the NFL to make me aware of it, stay off the Uni's plz

Prostate Cancer awareness would actually be a great cause as like I said before the NFL is male dominated. My company dumps tons of money into research and awareness. Now just come up with a way for the world to openly recognize it, like a color, ribbon, button, catchy phrase like "save the ta-tas". Then assign a month to it and it happens. It's commercializing a very serious health issue, but that's the only way to make things like "regular screenings" the in thing for guys to do.

Considering that my grandmother, my hubbys grandmother and 2 of his aunts have had this disease, and while 3 of them are surviors, 1 has been gone a year.

Its not only time to bring awareness, but to remember those loved ones who are no longer with us, and those who have survived this horrible disease.

For such a male dominated sport to bring awareness like that...is totally awesome.
