Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I would buy tickets to support, but I'm a broke college student. All my money goes too books, gas, food, cell phone bill, etc. Literally no money left after all that.
But I don't blame ex-season ticket holders, its their money. The Chargers should put a better product on the field in September, this is getting ridiculous. We're 2-1 but luck those 2 unimpressive wins were against terrible teams. Had that been against the Packers and Saints we'd be 0-3 right now.
In my mind they Bolts are 0-3, they are sure playing like it. Its the same old same old with this team every year. Starting super slow and getting away with it because the division has been bad.
Thats why I'm glad Oakland is stepping up.
It ain't your fault man- games are EXPENSIVE regardless who you are. I go to the game when I can but it's not often enough. San Diego just doesn't have enough die hard fans I guess.
Oakland has looked good and I hope they take the crown from the Bolts.
I don't but this stuff about the weather and things to do pulling the attendance down, thats weak.
The Lakers sell out every home game so obviously people find time to support them.
As somebody else pointed out, Basketball games are not played in venues where their crowds reach the 70k mark. Many of their games can hold a mere 20k.
The football team plays 8 home games a year, if the 'fans' would rather go to the beach then support the team then the team should be moved.
Just because a team fails to sell out a game doesn't mean that the team should be relocated. We are in a tough economy and that is flat out wrong. They are the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Chargers is all they should EVER be. The NFL needs to stop flirting with the idea of relocating a team to Los Angeles.
They keep flirting with the idea of relocation and a team that nobody expects will relocate.

you may not "buy it" but it is what it is. yeah the staples center sells out but you might want to consider that the lakers are like the Yankees of the NBA and that venue holds less than 20k people.
the fact that every single warm weather climate area has the same issues with their fan base is really the only argument i need to make about it.
not trying to make excuses for them, but it is not just San Diego and its not just chargers fans.
if you think that team should be moved then there is a handful of other teams that should be moved as well, right?
by the way, you are harsh on fans for going to the beach rather than showing up for games yet you want your team to tank the season?

Its like football here (or soccer lol). Barcelona, Valencia, Lisbon, etc..... are all great places with the weather and the beaches but they still sell out every week, and Barca sell out 90 k plus, even when they were second to Real Madrid a few years back they still sold out.
Thats what is annoying with Denver, When I tuned in to the Oak game it was a sellout and the cameras were shaking, such an incredible fan base who deserve more than this and Orton.
Just hope we find that franchise QB, even if it means tanking the year
Wow- I dunno what to say... I guess I feel sorry for you guys then. The Broncos were perrenial losers for quite awhile, and are again but we still represent.
Your fanbase is weak- they deserve all the crap they get. It's pathetic really.
EDIT- sorry for the harsh post but I just can't understand it....
Lol no problem, no offense taken.

L.A. and S.D. are only about 100 miles apart, about a 2:30 drive depending on traffic (which is always bad).
For Bronco fans or other fans who are perplexed by why the Chargers a "good" "playoff caliber" team can't sell out some games, well I don't know if this is the real answer but its my best guess since I live in S.D. and know the people.
I think the fan base is tired of the Chargers. I don't want to use the economy as an excuse since every fan base has the same issues, but Charger fans simple are sick and tired of paying money for a team especially for September and October tickets knowing that the Chargers always play like crap during those months. November and December tickets are at least worth your money.
I promise you if the Bolts didn't play like crap the first two months, and were putting up 40 points against the Chiefs, vikings, Dolphins, the games would be sold out. People like to watch good football.
Some fans have their own agenda, there is talk some people aren't buying tickets because they want to get the point across to the ownership to fire Norv Turner & AJ Smith. Some people believe they'll be ditching us for L.A. within a couple years so they feel betrayed and don't want to give their money up. Its like spending time with a girlfriend who has told you she'll dump you soon.
Lol whatever it is, it sucks because this just helps the managements case in that S.D. is not the place to be.

the amount of things to do is a factor, yes. i would also say the weather itself is a huge factor and the fact that southern California is a popular place which people retire to or get rich and move to.
there are a ton of transplants in socal, heck you can see them on this forum, quite a few broncos fans from California in general that i have seen.
other places that have nice weather all year round have the same problems with their fan bases.
look at every single Major sports team in the state of Florida, they all have the same issues with their fan base.
they all struggle to sell out, even when they are good. is that a coincidence? i don't think so.
Yup, this is the truth outside of the Magic. They sell out pretty much every game when they're good. The Bucs used to sell out but after the way they treated the vets like Brooks and Alstott people just stopped coming. Everyone hates the owners down here. Jacksonville is the biggest city in Florida but the only thing they go to is Gator games lol.
Its the same has south florida. They are both event driventowns. If the game is an "event" they will sell out.
South Florida fans are so fickle and annoying.
That is what Stephen Ross the owner of the Dolphins recognized and so he started selling off portions of the team to Mark Anthony, Gloria, Jimmy Buffet etc etc.
SoCal has what, three times as many people as all of Colorado? And they can't fill a stadium? Very strange.
Qualcom is nice. I liked it the two times I went there.
Pro football must just not have the following there. Must be too many other things to do on a Sunday I guess.

It just seems like a small amount of people compared to the overall population there.
Well, hopefully the Chargers won't cave and go to LA. Choose a city that has not ever had pro ball, and see attendance go wild, if only for a decade or so.
When we got baseball, this town was crazy for it.
yeah exactly
i'm not opposed to moving the team, at all
but LA is such a bad place
they specialize in losing teams
if you're going to move a team out of san diego due to lack of support, you don't go to los angeles......
fair weather areas just usually do not produce a hardcore fanbase
you say it's only 4 or 5 hours 8 to 10 times per year, but when you've got that other stuff pulling at you ALL YEAR, it's like no contest man
the other stuff wins, it's got more of you year after year
Yeah, I can see that.
