Actually he wasn't demoted, Torain was just giving more carries on Sunday. The Redskins still have Tim listed as the started with Torain as 3rd string.

Shanny likes to rotate his running backs, no matter if they are impressive or not.

Next game Helu might get the majority of the carries and look the best, or Hightower, or Torain. You wont know till gameday.

Doesn't matter. Tim is still the starter, Torain is still 3rd string.

The Redskins run game looks nice that's the point, doesn't matter which of them is having the better year.

meh, until I see a winning record and the Redskins in the playoffs, I won't be so quick to put Shanahan back up on a pedestal.

2 seasons with the Raiders, 14 seasons in Denver, and he had 7 seasons total, where he posted double digit wins. 7 seasons out of 16, isn't all that great. and in this league, unless you're the Seahawks and in a bad NFC West, you usually need double digit wins to get in the playoffs, especially in the NFC East.

we'll see how well his team performs in the 2nd half of the season, before I crown them NFC East champs. They still have to go up against NYG and Philly.

Someone needs to pick his brain and find out his secret.

Its no secret, Shanahan has some of the best zone blocking assist. coaches in the NFL who are experts at teaching RB's how to run in a zone blocking scheme. Hell even Moreno is a zone blocking RB who would excel in that scheme. The zone blocking scheme is a great counter measure to keep high scoring passing attacks on the sidelines, if you get the correct RB's in that system.

Its been 3 years since the Broncos fans have not seen a zone blocking scheme in a Denver Bronco offense on the field. We can all see over the last 3 years how the fans long for a return of the zone blocking schemes that made NFL teams respect the Broncos running attack. The last 3 years teams don't even bother to stack the box to stop Denver's running attack......because the Broncos stop themselves!!!

John Fox needs to learn the zone blocking scheme if he wants to see improvement in this area.

Shanahan is one of the greatest offensive minds the game has ever known his knowledge of how to get production,game plan and win are not just exclusive to the RB position but the QB,WR,TE as well ..

Had Shanahan had a HOF bound QB after Elway retired in 99, I'm sure Shanny would have made several return trips to the Super Bowl while in Denver between 1999-2008.

Oh and by the way, Shanahan had a year away from football after Bowlen fired him over horride Defensive performances. The year away allowed Shanny to do a lot of soul searching in this regard. In Washington he has left the Defensive side of the ball to Jim Haslett while concentrating on the offensive side of the ball.

Once again, Shanahan is just a prennial pro bowl future hall of fame QB away of returning the Skins back to Super Bowl appearances.
