But what is the Chicago management team doing to strengthen this team? Acquiring Peppers last year was a smart maneuver, because anyone could see that this is a Hall of Fame player, who still has a motor. But what of the Oline and Receiver group....you know, the players who will make their Offence move, along with Cutler? Sure, they've made some moves (Carimi for one), but clearly they have done little to improve one of the most porous olines in football. And as for WRs, would we want any of their starters??? Hester is not a true WR. Williams has been ordinary at best. Knox is pretty good, considering where he was drafted. But overall, these guys are not that good. (And why did they move Cutler's TE bud to Carolina??)

Whatever it is the Chicago brass is doing, they better hope that their amazing D does not age too quickly, because otherwise they may drop down the division for years to come. Yes, even I'm going to say it......give Cutler some help!!! Otherwise Forte is going to wear down as the season progresses.
If the Bears don't make the playoffs this season (given that they're 3 games back to 2 teams with a head to head loss to each, that's more than likely), Jerry Angelo has to lose his job.

Seriously, apart from Cutler and Forte, there is NO offensive talent there whatsoever. Hester does not count as offensive talent, everyone knows that hes a special teamer and little better than a slot receiver.

None of Knox, Hester or Sanzenbacher are any better than slot receivers, Williams sucks, Olsen should never have been let go, and the offensive line makes this years Steelers line look like the Hogs, its that bad.

As for the defence, its pretty old, though still at the very least good. A lot of holes could open up there too, along with the many holes on the offensive side of the ball... if the Bears aren't careful, that team could end up in a real mess in a couple of years
Manning Fatigue (noun): The act of being sick as hell of watching a HOF qb take half of forever to decide what to do and just wishing he'd make up his mind.

Someone should have told Cutler about the old saying "Better watch what you ask for because you just may get it"

I am still a Cutler fan. I told people when he went to Chicago he would struggle then allot of people acted as if his horrible season in 2009 meant everything before was an illusion.

Cutler went from a team whose offense was built around his talents over 2+ years to a team who will not build an offense if their life depended on it in Chicago.

After the 2009 season I was not mad at Cutler anymore because I am 100% positive if he had things to do again he would not force he way out of Denver. He is paying for his immature ways like allot of people who make bad decisions at 25.

Oh and my favorite quote about what is going on in Chicago

the Chicago Bears, who are clearly built for the sole purpose of ending Jay Cutler's(notes) life

In some ways I want to say "See Jay your an idiot"... in other ways I realize we are probably suffering just like he is because of all that crap and expecting the 25 year old young man to be the "better man" out of a group that included McD, Bowlen and Joe Ellis is about the dumbest "buisness move" I have ever herd of.

Besides we have Tebow now so I am excited again.

Clearly he's the best QB they had since Jim McMahon and he played in the 80's.

But...No WR's...worst 0-Line in the NFL, Bears dont have a clue.

Can you imagine that team with Orton still at the helm? Lol

So they got that going for them..

The Bears have never been able to build an offense, I can't explain it, its just a fact. The Bears have been ranked in the top 15 in offense only twice during the last 15 years. That includes different coaches, a ton of different QBs, RBs, everything, it just never seems to work.

thats pathetic, their WRs are a joke as is the TE position (why they traded Olsen ill never know) and their OL absolutely got abused monday night

they need a lot of help, they'll finish 3rd in the division
Well, obviously they need help in the receiving department.

What I meant by "more" touches for Forte was more touches intended for him to be the one with the ball.

It just seems that a lot of his receptions are Cutler seeing that none of his receivers are open, so he hits Forte on the check down.

My thought was that they use him like the 49ers used Roger Craig back in the 80s.

I think if they used him like that they would get more bang for their buck in his 50% of the offense

I suppose Martz has used RBs as receiving options before (Faulk) but that offense Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce as well.

Mike Martz runs the worse system in football. It handcuffs the QB in every way possible. It prevents Cutler from making those around him better. The system is at its best when it's doing what Mike Martz doesn't want.

They finally kept him up right tonight, but kept 2-3 extra people in to block for him.

                Martz needs to adapt

They only kept them in because Lovie and the rest of the offensive staff wanted to do things differently. Same thing happened last year. After the Giants game they took Martz behind closed doors and said STOP IT! Jay has been calling for offensive changes for a couple weeks. They finally stopped trying to run Martz stuff and just do what the talent can handle and it works. They aren't an offensive power house, but it works and can win games.

As far as I'm aware Martz is the only coordinator in the NFL who can't find a use for receiving tight ends. I guess when guys like Rodgers, Brees, and Brady use them it's just not good enough for the Bears. Audibles? Not in the Martz system. Cutler has to run the play no matter what. Even last week there's no hurry up because Jay can't call plays at the line. Has to wait till Martz gets it in. Even during the Panthers game Cutler mentioned they dropped 8 or 9 guys in coverage a lot. He's not allowed to check to a run when he sees that. It's crazy.

Yep. It's sad to see really. The Bears defense isn't the greatest in the world., but they sure are better than what the product Martz puts out is.

He got very lucky that his scheme took off in St Louis, and ever since then he tries to use that scheme everywhere he goes, regardless of what his personnel looks like.

Actually the best wr on the Bears is Earl Bennett.........but he has been injured since the first quarter of game #2 at N.O. Comes back this week for the London trip against T.B.

And what a difference the return of Earl has made! He showed up big in Philly.

The Bears have a very large offensive line and their tight ends are huge. I guess you will be finding this out very soon.

Bennett has looked pretty good at WR but has been injured alot, and their OL is really alot better then it was early in the year, I think Cutler has been sacked only 1 or 2 times in the past 3 games total, some of it due to Cutlers moving in the pocket also though.

That and Martz was held at gunpoint and forced to run the football...
