College coaches haven't done well in the NFL recently. The jury is still out on Pete Carroll, who has previous experience as an NFL HC, but Saban, Spurrier, Petrino, Davis, Holtz, etc. were flops in the NFL.

College and the pros are very different. Bill Walsh, who coached HS, college and pro football, said he thought pro coaching was more similar to HS than to college.

Its because most of the pro-players act like high schoolers, lol

Far, FAR greater chance of him being the Ohio State coach than him going to the NFL. They have a running QB, deep pockets, likely won't get hit hard by the NCAA and Ohio is a top 5 state for college football talent. Oh and he was born and raised in Ashtabula, Ohio.

No way he brings his spread offense to the NFL.

There have been rumors. And you can definitely tell that he wouldn't rule it out completely when he covers OSU games. My thing? I'm starting to like Fickell as HC. If they could find a way to retain Fickell, I guess I'd welcome Urban as OSU's coach. Fickell probably won't go anywhere anyways.

I agree that he shouldn't even think about taking a NFL HC job. Unless it's as a consultant to the Broncos for the rest of this season. That'd be nice.

pretty much guarantee this will never happen. the guy stepped down as Florida's coach due to his health yet now hes going to take an even more physically demanding job in the NFL?
