It is one thing to go after a person for failing to live up to expectations.

It is quite another to mock them due to their weight.

He then equates the players weight with him being greedy and "stealing" the money he was paid.

What about Dave Rayner? He is a kicker the Raiders signed for a single kickoff and for that one kickoff he recieved a check for over $40,000. What about these football players (and other athletes) pretending to be simply "providing for their family" when they are getting paid millions every year.

It is all theft and and injustice.

I agree to an extent about his lack of effort and stuff. However he deserves a second chance. If Mike Vick, a man who kills dogs and was in prison gets a second chance and Plaxico, a man who shot himself in the leg and also spent time in prison gets a second chance, JaMarcus should get a shot. Whether or not he proves himself worthy of another shot is a different matter.

If Mike Vick, a man who kills dogs and was in prison gets a second chance and Plaxico, a man who shot himself in the leg and also spent time in prison gets a second chance, JaMarcus should get a shot. These people are not in the same room as Russell. Russell didn't break the law. He didn't do his job as a athlete and take care of his body, his health, his weight.

He scammed Oakland. Walked out with millions and all he did was eat and lose games.

He was/is a bust. Vick and Plaxico was no where near the situation that involved Russell. Plax shot himself, and went to jail for carrying the weapon. He didn't kill anybody or anything. He is a very skilled player, and a well conditioned athlete. All of which Russell is not.

Vick was/is a murder of dogs, but he served his time in prison. He isn't sorry he did what he did, he is sorry he got caught. Vick just like Plax is a skilled player and well conditioned athlete, in which Russell is not.


If Russell wants a 2nd chance he has to earn it and prove something. Try in sign with a UFL or CFL team work his way up. He doesn't deserve a shot at the NFL until he shows he is good enough at a lower level.

has he shown that he can get and stay in shape? that he is ready to put in the work and actually study film?

thats the only reason why he will not and should not be given another chance, it has very little to do with what trouble he has gotten into off the field.

with a bust like Russell, you just need to leave him be. if that dude was ever serious about getting another chance, he could have proved it in the UFL but he didn't want to do that either.

Russell sucked not becuase he lacked skill or just wasnt talented but becuase he was lazy and didnt put in the effort. He probably could have been a great player and been tearing up our team for years to come but he was just to lazy. Any player with his work ethic would suck in the nfl.

The only way he deserves a second chance is if he does something to earn the chance. I haven't seen him do that and badmouthing is old coach or team is not helping his situation. He took his money and didn't care about earning it, just spending it. You don't throw good money after bad. Unless he showed up in shape and with a much different attitude I wouldn't give him a second thought let alone chance. I love Steve's rant. Harsh, maybe a lil but it is all true imo.
