    Seconded. Age is catching up with them, but this sure helps it along.

    Indy has always needed help on D.
    Have Peyton retire, and become OC.

    My problem with a defensive minded HC:

    The Colts will draft Andrew Luck. They need to build a stable system for him. Pagano will have to hire an OC to install the offensive system. If the OC leaves the Colts, Pagano might be forced to hire a new OC from outside the organization and Luck will have to learn a new offense.

    If the Colts had hired Rob Chudzinski, for example, he could have installed his own system and ask for an OC to call the plays, but the system would be the same as long as Chudzinski stays as HC.

    We almost saw something like this happen in Denver. If Mike McCoy had been hired by the Dolphins, Tebow and the rest of the offense would probably have to learn a whole new system this offseason.

    Pagano can hire Hue Jackson as OC and search for a good QBs coach that can take over as OC without changing the offense if Jackson leaves. But when you have the 1st overall pick, ready to draft a new franchise QB, I think the choice should be an offensive minded HC.

    Chuck is another Coach that got a HC job after being a DC for 1yr. This new NFL sucks.

    That is a really weird hire...

    These are no longer the Colts we are used to, they are going through a major overhaul.

    Colts hire Chuck Pagano as Head Coach...

    Colts hired former Ravens defensive coordinator as head coach.
    Pagano isn't known to have any history with new GM Ryan Grigson, so the Colts' coaching search appears to have been approached with an open mind. Pagano's 2011 Ravens defense ranked third in the NFL in yards allowed, fourth against the pass, and second versus the run. Pagano runs a hybrid 4-3/3-4 and is likely to remake Indianapolis' defense. He'll likely look to hire a quarterback-focused offensive coordinator to work with Andrew Luck. It's perhaps worth noting that Hue Jackson was on Baltimore's staff with Pagano in 2008 and 2009.

    Per rotoworld..

    At least we weren't the only team to lose it's DC ;
