They needed this win for a variety of reasons. It was basically the one that was going to set them apart from everyone else, and at crucial moments they made poor decisions and called bad plays.sigpic

They lost the Super Bowl to the exact same coach and the exact same quarterback TWICE.
They're two of the most unlikeable people in Pro Football.

Obviously them winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 years is a huge accomplishment. And going to 5 total is pretty remarkable.
I just think that they've been exposed now as a one-trick pony and I think it's highly unlikely we'll see them get back to the big game while they're in New England.sigpic
