    RIP Mr. Karras.


    The article I saw talked about the TV show he was on and as a side note mentioned that he also played football. Maybe the writer wasn't a sports fan?

      Defensive Tackle for the Detroit Lions 1958-1962 and 1964-1970; four time ProBowler and on the NFL's 1960s All-Decade Team.

      1974-76 MNF color commentator.

      He became an actor in movies (e.g., Blazing Saddles) and TV (e.g., Webster).

          he also played in the paper lion (1968)

          but I think he WAS Mongo - RIP big guy
