Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

@ Peanut, yes. The RG3 had to wear a very clunky knee brace for the last 3 games of the season, and it greatly impacted his mobility. Not only to run, but even dropping back to pass. But hey, he still got it done, Redskins won 7 in a row, and went from 3-6 to 10-6 and NFC East champs.
For those of you who are local here in Denver, I just called into 104.3 The Fan and asked Sandy Clough about his opinion on ROTY between Wilson and Griffin. Those two play each other this Sunday, and even though ROTY is regular season only, I asked him if Sunday's game of Wilson vs RG3 would influence his opinon on who should/should've won.
He went on to talk about both Griffn and Wilson for about 3 minutes after I hung up. He talked about how Wilson has been on the rise the last few months, and how his QB rating has been through the roof since November. He also mentioned how Griffin has been consistent all year, not just late in the season, and talked about Griffin's leadership abilities and being named a team captain and leading Washington on that 7-game winning streak (though cousins won 1.5 of those games LOL)
At the end of his opinions, he sighed and took a deep breath for a few seconds as he thought about it. He said its really, really tough, but Sandy said he would lean towards Wilson. As a Skins fan, its not what I wanted to hear, but I understand his thoughts and he's probably right.
With Wilson being so hot at the end of the season, that's what is fresh on everybody's mind. People forget that Griffin through the first 8 games of the season, had 14 total touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. In comparison, through Wilson's first 8 games, he had only 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. So even though the Redskins finished the season with 7 straight wins, Griffin somewhat "cooled off" in the second half of the season, where as Wilson got hot.
At this point, it's gonna be a toss up
Part of that had to do with his knee injury, right? He still played good, but you could tell that it bothered/hindered him.

I guess I realize why they wouldn't list anything negative, but its funny that the summary for each player on the Rookie of the Year voting website doesn't list the turnovers, good thing for Luck LOL.
But then again most people that are voting already know who they're gonna select when going to the website.
Is ROTY 100% fan voting? or do fans votes just make up a percentage?
Not positive but I thought fan voting was 0% of the voting. It's not the Pro bowl.
I was under the impression that MVP and ROTY and defensive player of the year and the such are awarded by the media.

Except Cousins had to score a TD plus 2 point conversion and did, then the next week had a 70% completion 300+ 2 TD game.
Cousins played a pivitol roll to keep them in the playoff hunt. Which is no fault to RG3 but lets not overlook the job Mike and Kyle are doing putting these players in great situations.
The Colts are still an overall bad team. They needed all those game winning drives against the worst teams in the league. (They played the Jags x2, Titans x2, Miami, and Chiefs). Luck had almost 700 attempts ( passing and rushing), they relied heavily on him and Wayne making plays.
It just feels like without Luck, that team has next to no hope winning many games due to the overall talent level and coaching.
I don't know if that makes him rookie of the year, but it at least makes him most valuable rookie in terms to his team having success.
I don't think you can go wrong with either 3 players. They are all great young players.
I could argue this against Luck. People want to know how Luck took the Colts from 2-14 to 11-5?
By playing one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Luck played the 31st toughest schedule compared to Washingtons 21st and Seattle's 11th. Luck beat 3 teams out of 11 with a winning record.
Yes I realize the same could be said about us. But Mannings stats were way better and still a tougher schedule.
So when does SOS come into play when people argue how Luck amazingly brought a 2-14 team to an 11-5 record?
Doesn't Cam hold most combined TD's. I thought he broke that last year he just didn't have the passing TD's to knock off Mannings record.
You know what I think you're right. I completely forgot Cam had like 31 just because his passing TD's were so much lower. But his 14 rushing TD's were unreal. So I guess I can only credit Wilson with a tied record.
But to be fair Indy said Luck smashed several QB rookie records. I'm not aware of any other than yards. Or maybe if you credit his 4th quarter wins. Though I'd argue that's a team stat not an individual stat. But I guess Qb's do get credited with that alot.
its crazy...because you could make a solid argument for either of them. Though I personally feel it should be between Wilson and RG3, all 3 of them have a good chance at winning it.
Luck - broke the all-time rookie record for passing touchdowns. most 300+ yard games for a rookie, and several other record i can't think of off the top of my head. Of the 3 rooks, Luck was asked to do the most since he didn't have a solid running game like Wilson or Griffin.
Wilson - though Russell probably walked into the best situation as Seattle's defense and running game were already established, he played lights out in the second half of the season, and if it weren't for the 49ers being so damn good, seattle probably would've won the division. He also finished the season with the 4th highest qb rating. Tied the nfl rookie record for most touchdowns.
RG3 - broke the nfl rookie qb rushing record, broke the all-time NFL rookie record for qb rating in a season, leads Luck and Wilson in every QB statistic except for total yards passing (Luck), and led the Redskins to their first division title since Bill Clinton was president. The Redskins were 3-6 at the Bye. Then the team voted Robert Griffin to be a team captain, and they are 7-0 since then.

Wilson tied Manning's record for passing TD's by a rookie which by default gives him the most combined TD's in a single season by a rookie as Manning had 0 rushing TD's.
Both had Ratings over 100. RG3's rating of 102.4 set the rookie record.
RG3 broke Cam Newton's record for rushing yards by a rookie QB. Also set the record most most yards per pass attempt in a single game with 12.3 against the Saints. (Yes I'm aware the Saints d was one of the worst ever)
RG3 also set the record for lowest % of passes intercepted. Make excuses as you will for safe playcalling but he still had the highest YPA of the three.
Wilson really only has the 1 but still point is Luck isn't the only one who broke records.

yep yep....as a fan of the game, a purist...... this is a debate I love to have because we get to watch these young cats ball-out for more than a decade yet to come.
I'm not aware of what records Griffin/Wilson ran away with? I plead ignorance.
The one I know of is the QB rating as they both broke it going over 100.0 But that is the only one I can think of currently. I think Wilson broke the passing TD also but not sure on that one.

Luck did not break the rookie record for passing touchdowns. Wilson tied Mannings record.
