My only issue with Manning is that this defense has been better than the offense...while Manning has been great, this defense has been better n that just makes it hard for me to give him MVP ..That's my honest opinion

Honestly while balancing both, means most to his team, + team is successful, it's hard not to make a strong case for Brady

The Vikings are not a horrible team. They just have a horrible quarterback. Their situation clearly shows the importance of a quarterback, the value of a quarterback. I'm one of the fans supporting Adrian Peterson as MVP, but I can see why the quarterbacks of the top ranked teams are also getting some hype. I think it's easier to make Adrian Peterson the Offensive Player Of The Year. The "MVP" award usually involves a player leading one of the best teams in the league, someone that keeps his team on top, and so he is the most valuable player of the year.

The OPOY might be someone like Adrian Peterson, who is having a very impressive season on the offensive side of the ball, even though his team might not get into the playoffs. I don't have any problem with Peterson as the MVP, but it looks like there is a "political" aspect surrounding this award. The best teams usually have the best quarterbacks scoring a lot of points and winning a lot of games, so the last five MVPs were quarterbacks.

Broncos were 8-8 last year. Without Peyton.
Vikes were 3-13 last year. WITH PETERSON.

How many do the Vikes win last year without him? Quite possibly NONE.

The Broncos are otherwise an excellent team.
The Vikes otherwise a horrible one.

I think, even despite him being an RB in a passing league, and considering how much Peyton has always done for his teams, Peterson is responsible for more wins on a horrible, horrible team, than Peyton is on a very, very good one...

im not quite sure how this proves anything ..... all i got out of it was the vikings can go 3-13 with AD or "potentially" 10-6 with him more than likely 8-8 as they play the packers and houston. so they gained 5 wins over a year and he played both seasons

broncos didnt have peyton last year and played one of the weakest schedules in the NFL, went 8-8, this year we are 11-3 likely to be 13-3 because we play the browns and chiefs. so we gained 5 wins with peyton as well over what we had without him. and who knows how good this team would be without him. He certainly helps the D immensely by giving them a lead to play with, letting them be aggressive because they know he can keep up if the other team does score, peyton also helps our running game because teams know he can pass with the best of them. our defense was not very good last year for comparison. you could also make the case that he helps STs get the opportunity to return punts/kicks because teams dont want to give him a short field to work with. then obviously hes helped in the development of decker and thomas and made them both into LEGIT NFL WRs and helps the OL by getting rid of the ball so quickly

Prior to the SF game, Den was only giving up 1.3 less PPG. And NE's D has been playing much better lately, especially with getting Talib.

And by your logic, NE won 11 games with Matt Cassel, what's the point?

It's still 13 spots higher. And Denver's YPG, sack total, nearly everything is better.

Won with him 4 years ago, with a much more experienced and complete team(Bruschi, Harrison, Vrabel) & ranked top 10 in defense
