Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

If I was Rex I would still start Tebow now so the Chargers spend all week planning for McElroy and then they get Tebow lol. But the Jets are a loss orginaztion and are just going down hill as their D gets older and older and starts to leave.
I should also add it doesn't matter who they start they are going to run it like 5000 times lol.
Not too suprising, I guess they need to see what they have in McElroy. They know what they have in Tebow and Sanchez, and if they have decided to part ways with Sanchez then they really need to have a plan in place.
Tebow can always be the default guy (if they plan on keeping him), so McElroy needs a couple games to see if he and Tebow can be a decent option going forward.
I just hope McElroy throws 5 INTs next week so Tebow gets a chance to start the last game.
Well I would love to see McE throw a bunch of intercepts and the Jets get killed cause I would love to see the circus afterward and I don't like Ryan or the Jets. However, I do not want to see TT come in and do well cause if he did some might call for him to stay. I want TT to sit out the rest of the year and then get traded, preferrably to Jacksonville and have a shot. Gabbert is horrible and that is his home team so I hope he goes there and I wish him the best.
Tebow should have had Elway and company trade him to Jacksonville and he would be playing right now, but instead Tebow wanted NY and the spotlight so what ever happens in NY is really HIS own fault.
That being said I don't understand why you don't try him, the passing game sucks and would continue to suck under Tebow & probably suck to a lesser extent under McElroy.
However Tebow gives you the running ability...anyway I really don't care anymore we have PFM and and PFM at 5% is better than Tebow at 200%.
Thx,
Joe

In an interview with GQ that was published at the magazine’s website moments ago, Eagles quarterback Mike Vick tells Will Leitch that Vick, the 2010 Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year, didn’t want to play for the Eagles.“I think I can say this now, because it’s not going to hurt anybody’s feelings, and it’s [more]
In an interview with GQ that was published at the magazine’s website moments ago, Eagles quarterback Mike Vick tells Will Leitch that Vick, the 2010 Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year, didn’t want to play for the Eagles.
“I think I can say this now, because it’s not going to hurt anybody’s feelings, and it’s the truth. . . . I didn’t want to come to Philadelphia,” Vick said. “Being the third-team quarterback is nothing to smile about. Cincinnati and Buffalo were better options.”
Vick ultimately was persuaded — by Commissioner Roger Goodell and other NFL officials — to pick the Eagles. Bills and Bengals fans surely will be thrilled to know that the league office is participating in personnel decisions; they also would probably want to know why Vick was steered away from their teams. (Leitch writes that both the Bills and Bengals would have “allowed Vick to start”; it’s hard to imagine that the Bengals would have benched the guy they currently refuse to trade.)
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.
Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.
Now, Goodell denied this and the next day Vick claimed he was "taken out of context." Yeah, taken out of context. Of course.
A few things here. I believe the league (owners and Goodell) wanted Tebow in NY. First of all for the marketing reasons. We know about that, and I do believe there is revenue sharing among all of the clubs. Tebow jersies sell big time, and of course they did. That means all organizations (including Bowlen) would get money from those significant revenues.
Second of all, the Jets were going through a major PR crisis last year. It was that bad. Remember that? The league (along with the Jets were suffering and looking bad.) They needed better PR cause of the new stadium etc etc.
So, in my estimation (keeping with that notion that Goodell did direct Vick to Philadelphia) the league directed him to NY.
The other issue is Jax. The league is not interested in saving that franchise with excitement. Why? Cause I believe they are already being planned to be moved. The writing is on the wall and the last thing the league would need is all of this excitement generated to just pull the rug from under them. They may not have a choice now. Tebow imo needs to be there.
In this report from PFT, you see where Tebow denied making that choice.

Tim Tebow said it wasn't his call to decide which team he wound up with: "I didn't have any (say). The Broncos had all that power" #nfl
Is Tebow lying about that?
Take it any way you want. I use to work in PR (a long time ago) for PGA of America, and it would probably shock you how many things are controlled and stories you do not know.

I don't buy it...right after Tebow mentioned he had no say on where he went Elway himself called into 104.3 The Fan to clarify that Tebow did infact have options.
Tebow is also on record saying that getting his message out (regarding religion) is much more important than Football, and what better stage than New York? So in short I believe 100% that either Tebow himself or his brother or whoever runs his camp lied about the Jacksonville situation.
Thx,
Joe

Yeah, like any good yes man and team player he just went along with it.
Based on everything it is incredibly obvious that Tebow was brought in there for other things other than football.
It is that obvious.
Another thing. Elway is as PC as anyone you will see. Of course he said he had "options."
I am sure he did. In reality, the league (Goodell) wanted him in NY for all of the reasons I mentioned.
Marketing, PR and what ever else related to those issues.

How can you be marketed when you are a scrub on the bench? Your better off marketing starting from day one, and maybe turning a franchise around. He wasn't going to have that opportunity in NY. It's better for the league if their teams are being looked at. Who looks at Jacksonville? Tebow in Jax would have been great for the league if that was their goal. No conspiracy here. Tebow wanted NY, he got NY, now he will be looking for a new team to bring the circus to.

Nobody looks at Jax, that was his point (im assuming). The NFL prob looks at Jax as the frontrunner for the team to move (perhaps to London) I think Tebow being there and re-energizing a fan base would make it hard to move that particular team....so I get the posters angle.
If Tebow is good enough to play he will get that chance, if not hes already had a pretty damn good football career.

As I said, I believe they wanted him there for the marketing purposes.
It doesnt matter if he played or not. The jersey sales still sell. He was the league leader in jersey sales before he took a snap.
He was one of the top sellers in the biggest market in the world.
It is that obvious the Jets brought him there for marketing and PR purposes.
You cannot see that? You think he was brought in there for football? Please, look at the comments by Vick and how they directed him to Philly. Combine with the PR disaster that the Jets were last year. Do you remember that?
Tebow's agent and Tebow denied they were ever given this choice.
There are ways to word things from a PR stand point to make it seem they made the choice, when in reality there was no real choice.
The owners are more powerful than you think. If they see marketing opportunities they will expoit all of them. Hence the nature of the revenue sharing. The biggest reason for that is they can all be unified when it comes to generating a revenue stream that they all draw from.
It isnt a "conspiracy" to say the owners exploit opportunities. Thats business. Not a conspiracy. Of course they well aware of the PR "problem." Which is why these leagues pay big money for PR firms. What do you think they do?
