9 yards shy, but the Vikings needed to worry about making the playoffs. His big run did set up the game-winner. That's a pretty MVP-like statement.

Terrific season for him. Granted, he is absolutely all the Vikings have.

Who's to say he'll never get another chance at the record. It took Drew Brees twice to get his passing record while coming so close before.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping the kicker would miss and they'd go to OT. Oh well, Peterson is still a stud. It stinks that Calvin Johnson fell just short of 2000 also. This has been a historic season and one of the most enjoyable to watch!
