Does he go after an existing one or draft somene like Geno Smith? As far as I can tell, this team's future rests on that decision. I've written about it elsewhere. KC could be a good team with a quality QB. Of course that can be said for a lot of teams, but in my opinion, they can easily go from 2 and 14 to 8 and 8 with a few good moves. But a rookie QB will take longer.....unless there's another Luck or RGIII or Russ Wilson out there.
That's why as of today I'm not scared of this hiring. I don't think anyone can win in K.C. with their current QB situation. Same to be said if he went to Arizona. Reid is not a miracle worker.

Honestly I think it has to be someone better than Alex Smith or a Matt Flynn though. Those are above average game managers but in no way elite QB's. I could see Smith regressing in K.C. I think you're right though that Reid and Smith could probably get them back to 8-8. And make it really tough for us to win in K.C. again.

Fox took us from 4-12 to 8-8 immediately with Tebow. So .500 is not out of the realm of possibility with an average qb.

However I don't think Reid has a qb that can be available in the next season or two to make them playoff contenders. It would take longer but they really need to draft and mold someone. That is their best chance at coming across an elite qb. I just don't see them coming across an elite one next year so for at least 1 year Reid is a non factor.

After that we'll look again at their options and reassess.

Yep. Based on history, Reid isn't going to want a game manager.
Maybe they trade down and go after Barkley or Gino?

Not a surprise. Reid like draft picks, and KC got the #1 spot. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to trade for Matt Flynn and then use the #1 pick to accumulate other picks. IMO, KC has been a QB away from being a real threat in the AFC West and the league, period. This signing would be good for the division!

Honestly I'm not that impressed with either of those. I've actually seena projection they take Gino #1 overall. Which I think is a huge mistake.

I think they should take Teo and a Qb in round 2. Not sure who but I can't imagine there isn't someone quality after those two names. I just don't know who it is. I mean Wilson was drafted 5th round.

Yeah. He'll do the right thing and draft Teo.

In his first year as a HC of the Eagles (1999) Reid drafted McNabb. Reid loves athletic mobile QB's. I would almost guarantee if he is their HC he will draft Geno Smith #1

Or Tajh Boyd, who has more arm talent and upside than Geno Smith IMO.

We have John Elway running the show, and a heck of a good coach in John Fox. When you are the best, what the dirty masses below you do doesn't really matter.

That said, KC could do much worse than Reid, he's a good coach.

Yes he likes his athletic qbs which is why if he goes to kc I could see Mike Vick over there too

Tajh Boyd will likely remind him a lot of Donovan McNabb actually. I'd be surprised if they took him first overall though

I tend to agree with you. Reid has had his share of mobile QBs, and as the draft gets closer, QBs start to look better. If Smith's stock is decent by April, it definitely could happen. Teams are not enamoured with stop gap situations, when they can go for the future all in one draft pick.

we all talk about trading down, other QBs, other players, etc...but the truth is...if Geno shows well at the combine he very well might be the guy there. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Mike Glennon in the 2nd though.

I forgot about Boyd completely. But isn't he only a sophomore?
I thought he was a freshman sensation last year along with Sammy Watkins?

Do we even know he would come out even if he is a junior?

I don't like this ...no matter how you slice it, Reid is probably the best HC out there (although I think highly of Arians too), soo I'd really prefer that both stay out of the AFCW and Reid just sign with the Cards
