Totally agree on step 2 Sam. I hope Shanny truly has this kids' future in mind.

Yea I agree, he needs to take the aging donovan mcnabb approach and learn to pass first and scramble less. He's a great QB he needs to keep himself healthy and focus on making plays with his arm and save his legs.

I hope so because I'm really disappointed in him for letting him continue to play and make matters worse when it was obvious that he shouldn't have been out there... Shanny's a smart coach and I'm sure had zero desire for something like this to happen but cousins should have been in there because it's obvious RGIII wasn't ready to go.

Well, I am not always sure. My brother in law played for Shanny, and after his acl injury (and TD's) the staff was not entirely patient or seemed too worried about the long term effects. When it was training camp the following summer he was playing with pain and they kept telling him he was just gun shy. Well, after a second opinion (which he got on his own), it was shown there was still some tissue and debris which if gone untreated could have caused further damage. I got some other stories about others, but let's just say I am a little worried for RG3. Hopefully he does what is right for him and has good people looking out for him. Not that Shanny is a bad guy, but I wouldn't always trust team docs with my future.

The Redskins need to take better care of their field.

I think Shanny dropped the ball on his decision to continue with RG3. Hopefully both sides learned from this.

Both are partial tears. Still not great but not as bad as it could have been.

They also said they are unsure if the MRI revealed the old injury, so he will undergo more tests tomorrow.

Playoffs were on the line. The doctor cleared him, though I do remember reading somewhere that the doctor was 2nd guessing that choice but that is on the doctor until I read something to suggest it goes beyond the doctor I am not going to assume anything.

Regardless the doctor cleared RG3 to play and RG3 is probably not even close to the top of the list of players who have risked allot in the name of playing football during playoff time. I would not be surprised if the list was real long of players who probably should not have been allowed to play medically.

It is a rough game and people get hurt. As long as players are not risking their life or mind imo it is their body to do with whatever they want.

Don't see this happening. If you drop the Option offense and limit his running to 2-3 times a game ala Rodgers, he won't be as effective. I think what made him as effective was the surprise factor, defenses didn't know what he was going to do so he kept them guessing. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid and think he's a heck of a QB, but if you drop the Option and the Pistol, you drop 75% of their playbook.

In that case, his career may be short.

I totally agree with this. That field was awful, there are things you can do to shield it from the rain it looked like 3 college games had been played on it that same day. Surprised Snyder let it look like that on national tv.

I also agree with this. RG3 is at best a slightly above average quarterback without his running ability. As his career progresses you can build those passing faculties. He's really young and in this era of sports medicine ligament tears aren't the end-all. These are partial. He'll be back running wild soon.

All that said, they probably win that game if they start Cousins or maybe even gave him the second half. He's pretty good himself they'll get a good trade for him someday. Wish we could have kept our options open for Manning's heir.
