Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

But one thing I will add, and not about to start a whole new debate about the Cutler era here (please folks....lets not),when it comes to leadership and maturity, this RGIII is an amazingly gifted young man. When he returns, and he will, there will not be one Redskin who will not follow him, no matter what the situation. And although Jay had a legit injury in that NFC final, it appeared day and night how the two followed through. Again, lets not start anything....rather lets talk about the uniqueness of this young QB, and how rare he really is. I was impressed when I first saw him, but now I realize there is little more he can do to make me appreciate everything about him.
So if Cutler went back out and played in that NFCC game and a similiar situation happened resulting in him needing total reconstruction of his knee you would view him different?
I think plenty would call him an idiot.
Your right it is "day and night"......one live to play another day, the other is going to be rehabing for 8 months.

I knew this might provoke some concerns from folks, but I was just wondering about it, in terms of fan/player reaction to the specific incidences (I wasn't talking about the same injury....I meant the exact situations that occured).
I am just saying that RGIII is the total package, and is a "one of a kind" leader. He took a risk for the team, and stood by his actions. Jay essentially did nothing wrong, but came away from the situation with critics everywhere. RGIII will be questioned for his actions, but never for his leadership and guts. And when this guy's healthy, I expect his team to never say die with him. I worry a bit, because if he's anything like AP, and I think he is, he'll probably come back even better!!! I worry because I am not a big Redskin fan.....although this young man is easy to like!
Two different situations....but one came out a football player's player, whie the other.....hmmm, not quite the same. I am not going to discuss too much, rather describe the outcomes of two injury related scenarios.
One thing has occured to me about Option football in the NFL. College QBs run it for a maximum of four years. If they ran it in HS, too, they could have run it for a maximum of eight years.
College and HS fields have wider hashmarks and slower, weaker defenders.
In the NFL, the ball is put into play from the middle of the field and the defenders are big, fast and strong.
Washington's running of the Pistol/Option has shown that five years might be an optimistic life span for an Option QB in the NFL.
If a team really wanted to run it, they would need three or four big guys like Cam, Tebow and Collin Klein just to make sure they always had depth to run the same O.
Who knows? Maybe RGIII's injuries might have been one thing that scared Chip Kelly away from the NFL? College coaches say anything to get players to sign, use them up and throw them away after their eligibility has expired. When an NFL coach spends much to get a "franchise QB" ... they should protect the investment.

Not RG3 fan but I do feel bad for him. You never want to see another player get injured no matter the circumstances. With that being said, RG3 career will end up being like Mike Vick, unless he changes his play style and learns how to slide, he will keep getting injured. RG3 just plays so reckless sometimes. Mike Shanahan & company need scrap the (pistol) (read option) playbook, and make RG3 prototypical drop back QB ala Luck. No doubt RG3 is exciting to watch playing that way it will not last for long though NFL defenses are bigger, stronger, and faster compared what RG3 is used too. Point being he needs to adjust to NFL game if wants play for long period of time...
