Jon Gruden Thinks Tim Tebow can succeed as QB in the NFL

I wanted Tebow to progress, and rooted for him hard while he was here. Watching him here in Denver his rookie year, it was obvious he would have to have a REDICULOUS amount of improvement, but I had hope.
I looked at all the entangibles, and hoped he would improve in the other things enough to become a good QB in the league.
But I was wrong. As his second season went on, and came to an end, it was obvious he wouldn't be able to improve enough in those areas. I don't think he will ever be a good QB in the NFL.

I think the Tebow truth is somewhere in the middle. He is not as magical as his fans proclaim, and he also is not as bad as his haters want him to be. When I see guys like Blaine Gabbert, Brady Quinn and John Skelton starting games in the NFL, I believe there is a place for Tebow (as a quarterback). But when you have Tebow on the field, I think it's stupid to cripple the offense and call a FB dive or a QB draw up the middle on 1st down. Spread the field, call more passing plays, more play-action and give Tebow freedom to improvise. Anyway, he'll have to improve his football IQ and go through progressions in the pocket if he wants to be more efficient and get to the next level. Less weight room, more film room and 7-on-7, 11-on-11 practice.sigpic

Interesting... apparently Gruden thinks Tebow is a victim of the NYJ media circus.
That was one of the more recent articles I could find, as of November 2012, only a couple months old or so.sigpic

When Jon Gruden is working for ESPN, he says everyone is great. All players can be successful when Gruden is in the studio. If he were a head coach, would he try to win games with Tebow as his starting quarterback? Or is Tebow good as long as he is someone else's problem?sigpic
