Yeah. Perhaps they did not want him in the AFC. Then again, it depends which team in the AFC. I would think a team like the Dolphins would offer more than a 6th for Boldin. I mean look at what they just paid for a WR that does nothing more than runs straight really fast.

Steelers fans will tell you. The guy does not have good hands and he is very limited in route running. He has never had more than 72 catches in a season and he did that only once. Is he worth 13 million per year 30 mill garunteed?

The point is I cannot imagine the Ravens viewing the Dolphins as this immediate threat in the AFC, even if they did get Boldin. Is that team a Boldin away from all of a sudden being this threat in the AFC? It is not like they are in the same division.

Either way, I am sure there are other teams that would have offered more than a 6th rounder. What does a 6th rounder get you? Anything?

Dolphins signed Mike Wallace, I presume. Maybe that's why they didn't go after Boldin they felt they already had their top WR. He may not be the best route runner, but any deep threat is valuable to an offense. The threat of scoring at any time during the game is what they are looking for. Its not about their stats, its about what they bring to the team. Jacobi Jones has never had a great season statistically, but I bet a lot of teams would like to have him. In this era more than ever, a player who is only good at one thing can be valuable with WRs and RBs.

Plus Boldin made the no **** catches to keep drives alive. Flacco looked to him everytime when they had critcal 3rd downs and need 1st downs.

Maybe keeping Jones and dropping 6 mill off the cap with a 6th round pick to boot ain't so bad.

No they traded for the right WR. The 49ers are ramped up to win multiple superbowls. Boldin was the best WR in the post season of 2013.

Don't know if it will be a steal. Boldin is not coming off a great year and turns 33 next season. Also the 9ers still lack the burner to take full advantage of Kapernick's big arm.

Crabtree is a burner. Maybe not Wallace type but still good enough. Plus kaepernick has resurrected V. Davis which defenses can't seem to cover again..

They just said on Mike and Mike Flaccos completion rate last year to Boldin was 61%, all other receivers less than 50% for the Ravens. Yikes.

That can help make a good or average player great, and keep a great player at a high level. Plus Boldin is a perfect fit there. They probably offered it, and he jumped quick at the chance to go there.

I do not know about your fantasy football league and how it works, but a trade like that would not be allowed in ours.

That would not be allowed by our commissioner.

Then again our commissioner use to play for UM and actually knows football.

Seriously though. There is a commissioner in the NFL. Someone is trying to tell me that teams like the Dolphins (Boldins home town basically) or the Bears, or any other team would not have offered more than a 6th rounder for Anquan Boldin?

So if we believe that ONE team would offer more than a 6th rounder, then what are we to conclude?

I am not sure, but something smells about this.

He's a perfect fit on the 49ers, he's a first down machine. He can run it like a RB so they can throw short passes to him if somebody's defense is overpowering their blocking and still have a form of a run game. Also, they can throw to him when they are trying to run out the clock if they have 2 bad runs on 1st and 2nd down. He's great in general as another weapon for in their receiving core.

They already have a great defense, good offensive line and good backs. Now, on top of that they have a QB that can run and throw as well as a good receiving core so they are a good team in all areas. That's tough to stop, this makes them the favorites to win the Superbowl in my opnion. They'll be hard to beat.

I think I might actually watch the Ravens next year. I might find it entertaining and enjoyable.
