Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

They lost hard hitting Benard Pollard today as well.
Smh. Thats crazy. They lost all these key cogs that were vital to their success to pay one man that needed help from the refs in every playoff game to win, including the super bowl.. One of the flukest super bowl wins in the history of the super bowl if you ask me. This will be Ozzie Newsome's biggest downfall since taking over as GM. He is the last GM in the NFL i would think could make a serious mistake like he has.
I guess in his defense, the draft sucks as far as year one franchise passers and free agency qbs are even worse so the cards played right into Flaccos hands, but like i said, 2-3 years they will ask him to restructure. He isnt Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Peyton Manning, he cant take a talentless team and win big with them. He isnt that guy.
Yeah. Perhaps they did not want him in the AFC. Then again, it depends which team in the AFC. I would think a team like the Dolphins would offer more than a 6th for Boldin. I mean look at what they just paid for a WR that does nothing more than runs straight really fast.
Steelers fans will tell you. The guy does not have good hands and he is very limited in route running. He has never had more than 72 catches in a season and he did that only once. Is he worth 13 million per year 30 mill garunteed?
The point is I cannot imagine the Ravens viewing the Dolphins as this immediate threat in the AFC, even if they did get Boldin. Is that team a Boldin away from all of a sudden being this threat in the AFC? It is not like they are in the same division.
Either way, I am sure there are other teams that would have offered more than a 6th rounder. What does a 6th rounder get you? Anything?

Pollard is overrated. He goes for big hits on guys who aren't running at him in a 1 on 1 to get noticed, but he doesn't wrap up well so he's prone to missed tackles.
I took a look at the Ravens' board out of curiosity. The fans are very optimistic considering all that they've lost. It's almost like so-and-so wasn't really that good anyway.
Most of them think we are scary good and do not look forward to playing in Denver. Beautiful words to read.

Cary Williams was drafted in the 7th, Ellerbe was an undrafted rookie. Both just signed big contracts. Not all talent is found in the first couple rounds - look at the Brady 6.
Pollard's getting cut had nothing to do with his play on the field, apparently it was worth losing money to get rid of him.

Didn't miss that post, just chose to ignore it for its' ignorance. 1%? Really?
Ellerbe, Leach, Tucker, Birk, Ihedigbo.... That's 15% of your SB-winning STARTERS that came in the 7th or as UFDA's.
Meanwhile, the Ravens just essentially traded a second-string benchwarmer (Kruger) for Doom. a compensatory pick, AND $6 million.
Who's laughing now?
Keep underestimating the Ravens and Ozzie Newsome. Please.

But you do see what he's saying, right? There usually aren't players available in the 6th that turn out to be great. Besides, fullbacks like Leach would be since they usually aren't drafted in the higher rounds. Besides, Leach came into the NFL with the Packers. Baltimore signed him as a free agent after 2010.

No, I do get it, and you're right, it's rare. (Ihedigbo came as a FA, and only started on ST's, as well. Not saying HOFers, but still...quality)
It's just that Ozzie has a real strong history of finding those overlooked diamonds in the rough, and in Baltimore we're used to 6th rounders coming out of nowhere and playing lights-out.
The sarcastic arrogance of newera's post just rubbed me the wrong way. I like dropping in here from time to time because I respect your team, I love PFM, and there's usually some pretty intelligent football conversation going on.
It's been a little harder to dig for this week with all the hate being spewed over Doom.
I get that, too - I mean, we just lost Ed Reed, but WOW.
