Apparently he tried to U-turn before approaching a police checkpoint. At .08 you should have been fine to hand your papers over and move along.
Bad things sometimes happen to good people.

the man is a legend and the best NFL announcer currently in the booth. the rest of the riff raff announcers are putrid and terrible.
I wanna donkey punch a baby in its face when I listen to Chris Collinsworth yap about anything. God I can't stand him, or Bob Papa, or Rich Eisen. Just awful.
Hopefully Happy Al doesn't lose his job.

Al is by far the best announcer for the NFL. I hope NBC doesn't do anything stupid like let him go. I think there will be an apology on air during our opener. Plenty of time for damage control and to move on.

Nobody is perfect. The difference is Al didn't resist arrest or do anything else stupid because he made a mistake. I don't see him being fired because he is iconic in announcing for the NFL and will most likely make an on air apology during opening night.

I discussed this at the Colts forum.
I'll breifly summarize my comments there by stating that the breathalyzer results can easily be thrown out with a good lawyer, as they are highly inaccurate and often, the police departments do not send them for their weekly required calibrations, as is required for them to function properly.
Average breathalyzer tests have an error margin of .01% to .04%. This is due to user error, improper calibration and the fact that breathalyzers DO NOT measure your actual BAC, they measure the presence of alcohol in your breath. It's a highly flawed mechanism.
Nobody should ever submit to one. Rather, opt to be taken to the hospital for an actual BAC (blood alcohol content) test. They will not arrest you for requesting this. Rather, they'll take you into custody and release you if the blood test is negative. Usually they'll inform you of the choice before the test. You do have to take a test though, or they can and will secure warrant for your blood.
At which time you'll be strapped to a wheelchair and have your blood taken from you.
Michaels will be cleared, that's my guess. If you have money, you can beat a charge like popping a .08

TNT suspended Charles Barkley for several weeks for a DUI.
Maybe 2 games for Michaels.

I don't think he gets fired seeing as he was just at the legal limit.
Got to be smarter than that though. I would expect to hear some type of on air apology from Al.

Hope he doesn't get fired too. He has a good broadcasting voice. I think when it comes to being a good game announcer most of it is having the knowledge of the game, but some of it is also a good voice.

Hopefully he doesn't loose his job over this. He's a good man with one bad mistake. He deserves the punishment that he gets but again, hopefully he doesn't lose his job. He's a good man.
