well it works if you have a good running game, but even if you are running the ball...stop being so vanilla with it, the first three quarters you give different looks, shifts, draws...then once they were up 28-7 they just got really lazy with the play calling....also you have to pay attention a team down by 14 in the 4th will probably try to fake a punt on a close 4th down, I mean how do you sleep on that? you stop that and you win the game.

Wade Phillips is basically Norv Turner, but on the defensive side of the ball – a great coordinator, but a thrice failed NFL Head Coach.
I'm not trying to pour salt on the wound or nothin, I'm as cool a fan as you'll meet when it comes to being cool with other fans (as long as they're also cool) and their teams, but unfortunately for you, that is gna kill you guys
Unless McCoy let's Whiz run the show 110% get ready for some serious frustration because of the ultra-conservatism of McCoy...otherwise there were some real positives to take from that game (Rivers just needs more help from a better oline and WR's imo), but anyhow, just tryna warn you about McCoy man
Originally posted by Indy View PostThings have changed so much over the years. Back in the day, if you have a multiple score lead, you hand the ball to your bruiser RB and whittle the clock down. With the passing game becoming more and more prolific, the idea of running the clock out doesn't come into play until very late in the game.
When LT was backed up by Michael Turner, we really had it good and I really miss Mike Tolbert in that regard as well.“I’m your huckleberry!”

So much awesome talent has come and gone in Rivers time. I kinda feel bad for him. PR is a very talented QB and has laid my team to rest on several occasions.
Yep, if y'all could've taxed the clock, the outcome would've been far better for ya. I was rooting for the Bolts on this one. Would've liked to see Houston get dropped in the AFCS.

We’ll see – I still think our O-line will eventually get better, we’re working with so many different guys right now, and working out the kinks.
It may be far too early to speculate, but I feel that Mike McCoy is definitely an upgrade over Norv Turner, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that assertion.

I think Gase is going to be good for Fox. You could see a little of it in the first game. They went into a conservative routine for a few drives in the 4th but then they started to use Manning's ability to dink and dunk. We have play makers and we are finally using them.
Last night, I saw the typical McCoy game. Very vanilla. I hope for Chargers fans sake, he changes his ways.sigpic
