Many of us rape survivors wouldn't have suspected it from those we know. Looks and actions can definitely be deceiving.

Here's the thing. One of the ways rapists and child molesters operate in order to be "successful" is to groom their "community."

You hear of how pedophiles groom the kids, well they groom the community first. They become legitimate, they become the good guy. They become the pillar of the community so that people allow them legitimate access to the kids.

And when they are caught, people are shocked and stunned and just can't believe it. THIS IS ALL PART OF THE PROCESS AND IT IS PLANNED AND WELL-THOUGHT OUT.

When you read the comments below these stories, people keep talking about his looks and wondering why such a good looking guy would need to do this.

I hope that someday all people will understand what rape is. And, I hope that people will understand that rapists can be anyone. Even a good looking guy like Sharper.

It's so frustrating that people don't get it.

Sigh! Well, this kind of explains why NFL Network and ESPN have completely buried this story. It's called denial and wanting to distance themselves from him.

This piece also demonstrates what I was talking about in another post regarding how rapists and pedophiles groom the community around them to appear legitimate and be the pillar of their community so that they can gain access to their victims without suspicion. As I said, it's well planned out and strategic. Notice that all his victims were specifically targeted and looked similar.

This story just breaks my heart and enrages me at the same time. I'm sure he's been doing this longer than we realize and I'm sure there are many more victims out there.

I pray these women get justice. I pray they receive healing and recovery and I hope to God that when this goes to trial, they won't be the ones put on trial, which so often happens.

Someone suggested that Sharper might use a football head injury as his defense. My contention is that will not fly in this case.

If you look at the MO of his rapes, they are very well-planned out and premeditated. They are not the result of someone losing it due to anger, rage and being out of control.

The other players who had head injuries had significant behavioral changes and reported outbursts of anger and rage. They reported significant memory lapses and depression as well as feeling out of control.

This is not the case here. Sharper was not raping these women due to fits of rage and anger. He planned these methodically and strategically over and over. His premeditation and MO alone is going to backfire on him. And I couldn't be happier.
