Still pissed I have to pay for Madden with him on the cover though. I hope he gets bitten by the Madden curse (not injuries, but production wise)

Couldn't agree more man. My attitude toward him would be drastically different if he donned the orange and blue but unfortunately that's not the case.

It's easy to hate the guy based on his on screen antics but when you delve a little deeper and realize he came from the streets of Compton and a Stanford
grad it's hard not to like him a little.

Can't stand him...hate mouthy look at me people. He has all the talent in the world but can't help acting like a child screaming for attention.

Act like you've been there before I believe was said by the great Walter Peyton.

That was pretty comical how out of his mind he was when he just spouted off after that one game last season - adrenaline all pumping ...he was vibrating mad...... and apologies the next day.
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

I like him, he's more 'real' than most players are. Plus, when he talks about giving it your all towards the ultimate dream, you can't help but be inspired and like him a little. In truth, I hope that they stop forcing players to talk to the media, that way they don't have to just regurgitate clichés that we know are likely not how they really feel. I say if your going to talk, give an honest answer.

That being said, I'm not much for most trash talk. Mostly, it's the whole 'x guy is garbage' part that gets under my skin. For one, the player usually isn't garbage so it's not true. Even if it is true, well...so what. It doesn't seem like outdoing a garbage player is much to brag about. Trying to talk down the player just diminishes everything you accomplish against them. If I outdo someone in a match up, if I want to brag I'd want to say they were good 'I beat someone who's good. Just calling everyone you win a match up with garbage just makes it seem like you aren't very good yourself, by your own words..because it means no one you ever beat is good.

For all his reputation as a loud mouth hothead Sherman actually has a reputation for being very friendly and outgoing to fans, even fans of opposing teams. Part of his trash talking is gamesmanship designed to get under the skin of opposing players and part of it is designed to put himself in the spotlight. Muhammed Ali is one of his influences and you can see that in his public personna. So far it has been very lucrative for him.

Sherman is a very, very smart guy who came up from the streets of Compton without a whiff of problems with the law and graduated second in his high school class and with honors from Stanford. There's a lot to admire about him if you can get past the trash talk and shameless self-promotion.

Pretty sure that was Barry Sanders. When asked why he just handed the ball to the ref after a big run or TD he said. "Act like you have been there before and KNOW you coming back again and again. "

Now you made me look it up and it looks like it was vince Lombardi who said it.

Walter Peyton handed the ball to the nearest ref. sanders did the "neon dion" dance

Haha, yea that would've been pretty funny. I was pretty shocked at how humble he was. It's funny how after an encounter like this you think of questions that you wanted answers to.
I've always wanted to know if the interview with him and Skip Bayless was staged or not.

Seahawks fan here. And not a bandwagoner....been one since '77. I was a little bored so I thought I'd see what was going on in Bronco land. Richard Sherman...if you lived up here and saw more of him like we do you'd know more about him than that one outburst (after the Niners game) and what the media says about him. He's actually a really good guy, he just gets intense on the field. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Seahawks fan, I say that because I see a side of him that the rest of the country doesn't. (local media etc) It's understandable why people dislike him since they only see that one side of the guy, (I would too!) but it's true..he really is a decent person. I just thought I'd chime in and say that because people seem to really HATE him, and he really isn't a bad guy. Just extremely intense on the field. He's like two different people. Good guy off the field, intense on. SO....don't judge by what little you hear or see because it really isn't accurate. Good luck this coming season and thanks for letting "the enemy" chime in on your board. (you guys must HATE us, but we waited a long time for some glory!)
