Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Dude got paid...rather or not you think her deserves it or not....the dude got paid. Good for him, but with all that said Bengals are wasting their time with Dalton and he's holding that team back.
The QB market these days is just ridiculous. I can't even imagine what kind of contract Andrew Luck is going to haul in after all these lesser QBs making so much bank...
Yikes, waste of money. The only way Dalton gets them to where they wanna go is if they stack the team around him and he isn't asked to take a game over.
Anyone else surprised by this deal? The last two years all I've hear coming out of Cincinnati fans is "Dalton can't get us to the SB." "We need Dalton to be a better leader." Things along those lines. Even from the organization itself there have been a lot of whispered doubt about him being anything other than pretty decent. Why the big extension? Is it just a case of better the devil you know?
Anybody watch the herd this morning? I don't like Colin, but he had me rolling when he was taking calls from Bengal fans.
As all of the fans who called in was trying to talk up Dalton. Colin kept knocking down Dalton saying how bad the deal is.
It all goes back to the Bengals have a very very talented and good team but are being held back by this QB whom they just paid.
I mean he'll likely get traded before the deal is up. But he's 27, how much growing can he do?
As for Wilson he'll get paid, even though he's Trent Dilfer with legs.
From me and Adam Caplan:
Cincinnati and Bengals QB Andy Dalton reached agreement on a 6-year, $115 million contract, per two sources.

The devil is in the details, but oh my.
Again...like usual....the up front reporters get it wrong again!
its a 6 year 96 million.
QB Andy Dalton signed a six year, $96 million contract extension with the Cincinati Bengals on August 4, 2014. All details of the contract extension currently come from Pro Football Talk.Dalton received a $12 million signing bonus and a $5 million roster bonus upon signing the contract, to bring the total guarantee on the contract up to $17 million. On the third day of the 2015 League Year, Dalton will receive a $4 million roster bonus. Dalton will be eligible for $200,000 in annual workout bonuses as well as potential escalators that can increase the total value of the contract to $115 million. The escalators will be triggered by various levels of playoff success.
2014 salary=$986k prorated bonus =$2.9 m roster bonus=5.1m cap 9m
2015 salary=3m prorated bonus=2.4m roster bonus 4m cap 9.6m
2016 salary=10.5m prorated bonus=2.4m cap13.1m
2017 salary=13.1m prorated bonus=2.4m cap 15.7m
2018 salary=13.7m prorated bonus=2.4m cap 16.2m
2019 salary=16m prorated bonus 0 cap16.2m
2020 salary=17.5m cap 17.7m
i wouldn't even bother looking at his 2019 and 2020 contract years. The way its structured, the bengals could cut him then without any implications.

colin cowherd is a straight up moron that trolls his listeners, nothing more. i don't usually spend time hating on people in the media but that dude is a piece of work.
dalton gets a bad rap because he has choked in the playoffs but he is a good QB that i would rather pay than a guy like flacco, that's for damn sure.
Everyone asks like this is a huge contract. Its not.
this contract averages out 15-16 million a year.
For quarterbacks, this is starter salary for an average quarterback.
Dalton is a average quarterback and thats the price for a starter.
and if it doesn't? Seattle is going to lose a lot of good players to make room for that gigantic salary cap hit.
Our core players are already locked up for the next few years. I trust Carroll and Schneider's ability to evaluate talent and fill in the gaps where needed. I like our chances this year.
“They were not going to take a loss. They definitely came out and punched us around.”
