Makes sense... that's probably what was behind the prank, lol.

I do agree with most everyone that Roger should step down. He's been a bad commish long before the whole Ray Rice thing.

It's pathetic, yeah your damn right he lied. Yeah all people lie but all people didn't basically suspend the whole New Orleans Saints organization and say ignorance isn't a excuse, well the same goes for him. My favorite part was when the dude from Tmz asked him if he could get the video with one phone call why couldn't an empire as the NFL get it? His response was well, bumbling, stumbling, fumbling. I think he should step down or be asked to step down. Just my opinion.

Those other people don't matter either, if the owners don't feel they need to remove Roger, then Roger won't be removed. What others think is irrelevant.
Do you honestly think owners are going to go against Goodell? They kinda have no choice but to go along with him and "support" him.

Don't care, my opinion has no effect on what the owners do. Just saying what I think on the subject.

If admitting you've made mistake it's all that matters the PATs should look into getting Hernandez out on parole, right?

Extremes for sure but Goodell's problem isn't that scandals have happened, more about how he has handled them. The apparent cover up only suggests that Goodell is complicit or not running things well, either is bad.

Goodell may have turned into a liability for the brand

Put me in that 99% of those who are not impressed with Goodell. Shoes on the other foot, and he's not handling it too well. Indirect answers to the questions I heard. His handling of The Saints is partly why I think he needs to step down or at least forfeit one year on the job including salary.

Later this pm I heard that there is a big push to prove The Ravens brass new all about the 2nd tape, and chose to look the other way.....including working to keep things quiet. What I heard was that The NFL might have been partner to this. It's a rumour because I don't remember the source specifically, but it sounded bad.

I mean cmon, The mighty NFL could have got that tape. And it's the stuff about Roger's "Security" people that makes me concerned, like he has left it 100% to others. Not to mention, that he claims he was misled by Rice. Another cmon!! You just ask Rice and believe that's enough??? That does not sound like the know it all NFL. By the way, did The NFL even see the first tape....you know the one, where a partner drags his lady off an elevator, and does not seem to care much about her condition. That one alone should have got the collective minds of justice working. But no, we listened to Rice, and we used the existing policy to come up with the 2 games. Simple as that......

Suddenly Roger and company are naïve folks who got fooled. Cmon!!!

And as for the investigation, I only pray we don't find out that the lead man on the case is a friend of someone's.........

It actually doesn't sound like a rumor. A guy by the name of VanNetter said that a police officer was on the phone with the owner of the Ravens and their security guy hours after the elevator incident and was literally describing frame by frame of what was happening in the elevator.

Apparently Harbaugh pushed to have Rice released then and there and the GM and owner said no. They then petitioned Goodell for leniency and the 2-game suspension.

Then to their gall, after Rice was cut the owner actually sent Rice an email or text telling him once this is over and you're suspension is done, I'd love for you to come work for us in some capacity, I cant remember how. Apparently, Rice was really offended. Here he was supposedly getting cut for horrendous behavior and then will get a job with the owner.

So, now the Ravens also look horrendous in this, except Harbaugh. Holy crap. This just keeps getting worse.

Yes......that's how our local radio sports guys described it.

                    This is just the beginning......

I'm thinking the guy you are referring to is Don Van Natta Jr., an ESPN Investigative Reporter....please correct me if I'm wrong. I just read the following report on ESPN's "Outside the Lines" page and it's pretty damming....but everything in print whether in paper or on the internet is all up to the reader's interpretation....

I heard on my local radio station that the 'dont take me to the elevator' statement at the conference was a dare by Howard Stern. Lame

Right in the middle of Roger Goodell’s much anticipated press conference address domestic violence and the NFL’s personal conduct policy, commotion ensued. A man, who announced “I…

Here's the presser in case any of you missed it. It's basically getting the worst reviews you could imagine. NFL execs were 'not impressed' ... and list just goes on and on.

As I suspected he going to try to solve this by implementing programs and implementing education methods .... a new conduct committee, new heads of this and new directors of that ... 'and then we'll do MORE'

                            what?

What we really got was basically ..... nothing until the Super Bowl. huh?>

I guess there's like 20m of nothing at the beginning because he was late getting to the mic ........

He gets to the podium at about 21m in
