The question I heard asked today was whether people using Twitter to watch would be able to tweet at the same time? Apparently they won't be able to so they made a big oops on this one. I don't use Twitter at all but it would seem that most people who do would want to tweet during it and they didn't do something to allow that to happen. Sounds dumb to me.

Yeah, I've wondered about that question too though I don't use twitter. Considering most people use Twitter on their phones, having a live video stream with real-time tweets from millions of people would make the tweets practically useless - no one could keep up. I suspect there is some kind of integration with stream and tweets but how it will all work out seems a mystery at the moment.

I also wonder how Twitter plans to make revenue on this. Subscription? Ad supported? Of course Twitter still has yet to show a profit so forking over almost $20 million might not be a big deal.

The biggest point that stuck out to me was Twitter will pay roughly $1 million to stream each game. For comparison, Yahoo paid $17 million for last year's game in London (or $20 mill depending on your source ). Obviously the London game was a bigger draw, but still.

Twitter's deal does not affect current deals with mobile streaming from Verizon or broadcasters with rights. So the NFL is essentially re-selling the feed to another outlet.

If Elway is targeting Paxton Lynch, this is bad news. The Cardinals won't be so desperate for pass rush in the 1st round and they might want Lynch learning behind Carson Palmer. Lynch's arm is perfect for Arians' vertical passing game and the Cardinals' willingness to roll the dice on Logan Thomas because of his physical traits tell me they should like Lynch a lot. Elway might have to make a deal and move up.

I can't see him falling out the top 20. I know he's raw but someone with his talent and skillset won't last long.

Martavis Bryant apparently hasn’t chosen football over marijuana.

Dejan Kovacevic of dkpittsburghsports.com reports that Bryant is “facing a season-long suspension.”

If this flows from the continuation of issues that Bryant said after serving a four-game suspension in 2015 “are behind me now,” it’s unclear why Bryant has skipped over the 10-game suspension and went straight to what would be, technically, a banishment with the ability to apply for reinstatement after one calendar year passes. It’s possible that, while facing a 10-game suspension for a violation of the policy, Bryant committed a separate violation.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, confirming the report, adds that Bryant’s agent says the suspension has been appealed. With final say for these infractions now possessed by an independent panel of arbitrators, negotiations between the NFL and the union can be much more meaningful.

If Bryant misses the full season, it would be a huge blow to one of the best offenses in the NFL, and it would possibly force the Steelers to try to find another mid-to-late-round receiving gem, a skill they have developed and perfected over the last decade with guys like Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, and Bryant.

Last year’s third-round receiver, Sammie Coates, would have a chance to step up. Or maybe they’d bring back Wallace, who was cut last week by the Vikings.

For now, the chase will begin for confirmation of the report from Kovacevic, who previously worked for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Elaboration also will be needed before the situation can be fully understood.

If Bryant, one of the best receivers in the NFL, misses the season because of marijuana, it will be even more reason for the NFL to take a serious look at the sensibility of telling players that they can’t consume on their own time a substance that is legal to use for all purposes in two of the 22 states in which the NFL does business

I am very proud of him and his willingness to confront his mental health issues. I am even more proud of the fact that he has talked about it openly and is doing things to help others as well. Borderline Personality Disorder is a highly stigmatized diagnosis. His doctor at the McClean Institute here in Boston was concerned for him about announcing it because of the great stigma surrounding it.

He decided to talk about it anyway. I am very glad he did. Proud of you Brandon. You've come a long way.

Great story, I'm glad that Brandon Marshall 1.0 has been able to get his life back on track, he went from a guy who looked like he was going to quickly find himself out of the NFL because of his antics, to a guy who is a leader and a very good person. Credit to him for that.

I also had no idea about Tyrone Braxton, I kind of remember the arrest story, but didn't know about everything else, I'm glad he got his life back on track as well.

I was also unaware about the details of Braxton as well. That makes the story that much better...players giving back. I love it.
