The league has discussed increasing to 18 games which again would increase injuries but if it increases profit margins, they will do it. The rule of moving the TB to the 25 yard line seems silly to me.
Listen, I am very tough when it comes to my opinion about The NFL and it's revenue first philosophy. And to be sure, I have a sense that safety as a priority has increased due at least partially to potential lawsuits. Having said that, if KO returns have a high degree of injuries, possibly of the worst magnitude (ie. concussions), then I have to agree with them. Not sure I concur with their new format, but who am I to say.

I was going to post about how today's society is being reflected in the NFL, getting soft and wimpy and diluting the value and excitement in things, but Josh Norman said it best..................

Why all these rule changes ?

I'm just scratchin' my head, man. They're takin' away the game in which we play, man. It's just unreal every year, the rules change to tighten the game. Used to be somebody makes a big hit or play and everybody is like, "Nice!" Now, you make that same play and everybody cringin' and crunchin' like, "Uh, we don't wanna see that." Soft society. It's ridiculous.

Is the 25 yard touchback only on kickoffs, or is it all touchbacks?

Seems like some kick returners who field the ball up to five yards deep in the EZ are often able to return to the -20 or even farther.

In HS, we used to be able to KO so that the ball would land on the #10 usually on the right so we could run Jaws Right.

With practice, pro kickers should be able to kick high and have the ball come down inside the +10/+5. Hang time should be greater and coverage better. If the KO can be placed even with the #s, that will facilitate Jaws coverage.

I don't know for certain, but my guy tells me it will only come back to the 25 on KOs, because they are trying to discourage returns....hence the incentive.

As for the 2nd bolded item....you played with sharks????!!!!
