ESPN Texans reporter Tania Ganguli reports DeAndre Hopkins is upset with his contract and has decided to hold out of training camp.
Hopkins is understandably upset with the $9.36 million he is scheduled to make over the next two seasons, but Ganguli reports the Texans "aren’t negotiating." The fact that Hopkins decided to hold out despite the $40,000 fine for each day missed suggests this situation could drag on for quite some time. Easily the best player in the passing game, the Texans cannot afford to be without Hopkins for any time in the regular season. Already overvalued at his WR4 draft cost, Hopkins needs to be dropped down a few pegs.

Looks like this is not gonna end soon:
STATEMENT FROM EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS AND GENERAL MANAGER RICK SMITH
“We are disappointed DeAndre has elected not to report to training camp with the rest of his teammates. He has expressed his position regarding his contract status, and we have been clear with both he and his representatives of ours. Our focus is on the 2016 season and all of our collective efforts and attention will be centered on that endeavor."

Playing for a head coach who once tutored #Tommy, Osweiler doesn’t really want to hear about the long-time quarterback of the Patriots.
“They refer to Tom Brady a lot,” Osweiler said Friday regarding coach Bill O’Brien and offensive coordinator George Godsey, via the Houston Chronicle. “With all due respect to Coach O’Brien and Coach Godsey, I’ve told them I’m going to be me. I’m not here to be a puppet, if you will. I’m going to be who I am and believe in what I bring to the table every day.”

I'm loving this.
