  • Montee Ball sentenced

Former Broncos running back Montee Ball was ordered to serve back-to-back 30-day jail sentences along with probation after pleading guilty Friday in two domestic violence cases in Wisconsin.

Ball was accused of throwing his girlfriend at a Madison hotel on Feb. 5. He was charged in March with two felonies and two misdemeanors when a former girlfriend came forward and said he assaulted her in 2014.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Ball faced six charges total Friday and pleaded guilty to two charges of disorderly conduct and one charge of battery as part of an agreement. He is also undergoing alcohol treatment.
Ball was accused of allegedly battering his girlfriend at a Madison hotel this past February.

Man I hope Montee can wake up and pull out of this nose dive. He's still young, with some money and a college degree from Wisconsin. He may have been a bust in the NFL, but there's still plenty of opportunities out there. Memo to John Elway, let's just pass on RBs from Wisky and Bama from now on, OK.

Yea, tough break for him. He deserves it, but I'm not the type to condemn a guy for one act to a lifetime punishment. That being said I'll be rooting for him to pull his head out of his rear when he's done, get back to training, and give the NFL one last shot.

I forgot, what was bad about Ball when he was here?

He just never seemed to get in a groove. In two seasons he had only 5TDs, a 4.2 yd avg, which isn't bad, but only a 34.8 yds/game avg. He came in highly touted but could never win the starting job either because of injury or ineffectiveness. I hope he can get his life straightened out soon.

His name isn't Eddie Lacy. Got stuck behind Moreno during his career year, got hurt his 2nd year and tried to play through it while we were running some funky long developing counter plays that got him hit in the backfield every play. If he played in a prototypical power scheme like Dallas he would have been good.

Really disappointed in the guy while he was here. I thought he'd be a big contributor for us, then came the injury and he just never seemed to get on track. Guess all those NCAA TD's came from running behind a huge Wisconsin line

Would have had good numbers*. Wouldn't have made him a good NFL RB in my opinion.

I remember his first preseason game.

He brought some of his old coaching staff/friends from Wisconsin and got them a suite for the game. I remember chatting with a few of them together and collectively they all expected Montee to break 1000 yards his first season with the Broncos. Amazing turn of events. Hopefully he can turn his life around off the field.

Pretty unfortunate situation. Loved watching him carry the rock for UW. But he has had some off the field issues that go all the way back to his college days.

Hopefully he can turn his life around...
