  • I went to the Texans training camp this morning.

I had 7 VIP passes to Texans camp this morning so I figured I'd go check it out. I know all players have bad days but Brock looked terrible. Every ball had the same downward trajectory, lots of check downs and inaccurate passes. Savage looked the best out of the 3 qb's.

Sounds like BO but he got paid, can't fault him for that but he is going to receive some harsh abuse now.
Especially from the Houston media if he don't play up to that ridiculous contract.

    Thanks for the update. :thumb:

Maybe reality is sinking in and he's thinking "what was I thinking, WHY did I leave Denver????"

He's probably thinking the heat index is 110 degrees down here, this I ridiculous. I'll try and post some pics when I get home.

Yeah Houston regularly hits 90% humidity saturation with 100 degree weather. Some of my friends have commented after mission trips in africa that the weather was better there than in houston summertime. I don't envy Brock at all right now

The Houston Chronicle posted an article yesterday praising Tom Savage's performance in training camp.

I remember the Denver media reporting multiple times that Osweiler did not look good in practice, even beyond his rookie season.

This newborn rivalry with the Texans will be quite interesting. We have their former coaches (Kubiak, Phillips, Kollar, Herring, Pariani, Knapp, etc) and they have our former QB.

Lynch will probably be constantly compared to Osweiler, like a race to see who comes out on top. The same goes to the offensive systems ran by Kubiak and O'Brien.

I'm actually grateful that he decided to run away and cry like a baby. I was adamantly against us giving him a large contract during the offseason (Elway was willing to give too much for him, no idea why). Luckily we didn't have to pay for the mistake Elway tried to make.

I really don't understand why the media hyped him up so much last year, it really didn't make sense. He didn't even play that well, but he got all the credit for his wins when they were mainly due to the defense. You would think he had been putting up prime Peyton Manning numbers in his starts, the way the media talked about him

Not only the downward trajectory, but the fact that his release point was down near his shoulder most of the time. The ball would go whizzing by defensive linemen's helmets half the time. He's lucky he didn't have even more balls deflected than he did

Well technically, Kubes, Dennison, Pariani, and Phillips were ours to begin with!

You know what, I think this is one of those win-win situations in that Brock is better of in Houston and we are better off going in another direction. Brock was probably a good fit for a Peyton Manning type of offense, but from what I could tell he was not an ideal match for Kubiak's system. Although more mobile than Manning, he just did not look that comfortable in this offense in my opinion. Although this leaves us a bit high and dry with some uncertainty going into this season, I think it will work out for the better in the long run.

Yes, but the fact that they formed a crew that was fired/not retained by the Texans adds some fuel to the fire. These coaches were deemed "not good enough" by Bob McNair and now Brock Osweiler thinks the Texans are a better fit for him than the Broncos. To add even more fuel to the fire, the Texans just had to watch Kubiak and his staff win a Super Bowl with another franchise. I think it's gonna be an interesting game with something extra at stake, some sort of bragging rights, "I told you so". I expect out defense to be very motivated for that game.

Yeah I know, but I've always considered them the Houston Broncos seeing as they poached our coaching staff, along with Myers, Nick Ferguson, and Joel dreesen

He obviously had a bad experience in Denver and didn't want to come back regardless of money.

But I think you guys were gonna overpay him anyway, so I think it worked out well for you.
