  • Houston crowd goes nuts over Brock Osweiler benching

A lot of Denver fans saw this one coming...

    This is awesome.

Brock Osweiler was benched in Houston after throwing interceptions on back-to-back possessions in the second quarter vs. the Jaguars. Texans fans aren't hiding their satisfaction with the decision.

Then Savage comes back to win the game... holy cow. Vindicated! Denver carries a young Osweiler to five wins and puts on display a great show for the whole league. That was funny money from 20 million miles away.

Houston saved Denver from itself by giving him that massive contract. Although I think he would have been better here in an offense he was familiar with and a coaching staff very aware of his strengths and weaknesses, than he is with a coach who never wanted him and in an offense that's a lot different.

I don't think he'd be great in Denver, but I think he'd have been better.

I still remember how many people were sour at Elway for this.

He was benched in DEN for a 1-legged QB

Why should anyone eat crow? John wanted to keep Brock, evidenced by the large contract he offered. One could argue John would have even matched the Texans larger offered had he been given the opportunity. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we dodged a bullet, but let's not try to rewrite history here. If Brock wanted to be a Bronco he would be a Bronco, and it is likely he would have a comparable contract here.

I guess that's what makes this story so enjoyable. Brock did not want to be a Bronco.

He wanted to be a Trojan Horse.

He has a shot (a small one) at starting a playoff game, unlike Sieman/Lynch

I agree with this statement, but that is a separate point altogether right? I just don't see the need to tell this story any different than it went down. We wanted Brock, and we may have matched the Texans offer given the chance. It's just the NFL world the Broncos live in, QB craze is at all an all time high and will continue to go up. I'm glad we dodged that bullet but it's not because we wanted to.

Elway is probably like sigh of relief. He did offer Brock 16 million per. I don't know what Brock would've became in Denver, but I do think it would've been better than what he's done in Houston.

He has no more of a shot than Denver does. He will likely crap the bed in week 17 in Nashville and won't even have a shot at a wild card tie breaker.

Honestly I think Siemian has a better shot at getting us to a playoff than Brock does.

In fact the more I type this the more I realize Brock has 0 shot at starting a playoff game. Because Savage is the starter now.

Probably the rest of the year, pretty hard to go back to Brock at this point
