  • McDaniels Pulls Out Of 49ers HC Opening

    Ian Rapoport
    @RapSheet

#Patriots OC Josh McDaniels tells reporters “at this time it’s just best for my family and myself to remain here in New England.”
Been saying for a while now that McDaniels has his eyes on taking over when Belichick eventually retires. I wonder if Belichick told McDaniels that he plans to retire if the Patriots win the Super Bowl...?
    Denver Broncos
    New York Yankees
    New York Knicks
    Colorado Avalanche

Smart on McDaniels part imo. The 49ers are a mess, and the owner seems to be making most of the mess.

McDaniels could be Bill B successor. Could be next year, could be 5 years from now?

Hope Shanahan don't go to San Fran either, but part of me is wondering if Mike & Kyle don't go there as a packaged GM & coach deal.

Yeah I said the same thing about Mike & Kyle in another thread.

I said if I were Kyle I wouldn't go to SF cause they are a total rebuild but that then again maybe he goes because he'll probably be able to bring Daddy along as GM.

McError knows where his bread is buttered so he'll stay where only NE assistants and NE players succeed cause they're all garbage away from NE and Belichick. And again, SF is a total rebuild and a team built with subpar talent (i.e. 'The NE Way') only works in NE and under Belichick

McDumbass as the head coach of new England would be the ultimate villain.

So he'd have your vote for coach of the year? Lol

It'd be a tough job to go into. The 49ers are in much worse shape than the Broncos were when he took over in 2009.

Yeah can't take a team to rock bottom that's already at rock bottom so maybe he withdrew his name after realizing that there's really no good side of the 49ers team (offense, defense, special teams) for his Big Ego/Napoleon Complex to go in and destroy like he did with our team's offense, Mike Nolan's defense, our fan base and the good name of our franchise.

SF is a mess but, as a new coach that could actually be an advantage. SF is pretty much rock bottom, there's only one way to go and that's up.. so I would think the rope right now would be nice and long.
Kyle comes in and takes over a sinking ship and they win 8 games next season and he's a god in the Bay Area... lol
Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore

I would find it hilarious if Mike is hired as GM. Hopefully Kyle would have the stones to say no I won't coach if my dad is GM.

I mean it can't really get much worse than now but I think we've seen enough of Mikes ability to assess player personnel. If Kyle wants to succeed it would not be with his dad as GM.

Smart move by McD, I wouldn't want to got to SF either. I'd wait and see what happens next year.

It will be hilarious if Kyle Shanahan takes some time to think about it and decided to stay with the Falcons. And that's the right move for him in my opinion. The 49ers have been too dysfunctional through the years. The last two head coached were fired after one season.

I said the exact same thing to my brother 3-4 hours ago. I think it's a move that could kill his career if he takes it.

For me firing Jim Harbaugh or forcing him out was all I needed to know about that organization.

It looks like he will get Gus Bradley as DC, but it's still a very risky move for Shanahan.

A lot of bad drafts and a lot of key players retired in SF; that roster needs a lot of work.

Nope Bradley agreed to terms with the Chargers today.
