I thought Anthony Robbins "stated" that.

What Gruden did over a decade ago has nothing to do with his decision today.

Second, yes it is "supposition" just as assuming he would come to the Broncos is at this point in time. And it's also "supposition" the Broncos won't sign a QB in the next couple of days which would be needed for Gruden to make his decision. And it would be "supposition" on Gruden's part to assume we get a QB that meets his standards. Yes, it's my opinion Gruden won't sign with us and again, and I'd bet real money on that.

Third, any discussion of what Gruden will do by anyone but himself is, by definition, "supposition".
Wow I sure got your goat with that one! Well it was purely a """""supposition"""""" with no evidence just your faulty "logic 101" which isn't taking into account other possibilities, and conveniently disregarding the past wherein Gruden didn't actually have to coach for either of those teams if he didn't like the situations there. If the Broncos wanted him and he wasn't currently so steered back into Oakland as he seems to be, he'd be invited to an interview where the $10M+ he wants would be thrown at him first, and then he would naturally ask and be clued into Elway's/Kubes' intentions for getting a QB in the FA and the draft. Perhaps Gruden would even be allowed some input on that since it would be his offense and he knows what kind of player he needs and wants to mold.

Not that it matters. He'll likely be a Raider again in a matter of days, that's where I'd put my money.

I learned that many years before Tony Robbins was popular. Robbins teaching by his own admission aren't original. Instead he cherry picked the best from many different sources. Like I said it's Logic 101.

Wrong. Anyone that has followed Gruden at all knows how important he feels QBs are and why there's no "Gruden LB Camp". I based my OPINION on the many comments Gruden has made over the years about how important QBs are to a team.

You're also arguing against yourself, as I said Gruden had options. Yoiu're the one that brought up Oakland and Tampa from over a decade ago, remember?

100% pure supposition with zero supporting evidence. Not to mention, any plans Elway and Kubiak now have for a QB is "supposition" as there's many factors out of their control. They can say who they HOPE to go after, but they can't guarantee anything. On the other hand, Carr is a "bird in the hand", no supposition needed.

Not that it matters. He'll likely be a Raider again in a matter of days, that's where I'd put my money.
Which means you agree with my bet that he won't coach here. That wasn't so hard now was it?

Gruden would not come to our Broncos unless we obtained a quality QB. And, can't say I blame him. Coaches are doomed without a quality QB.

The jury is still out on whether Carr is all that quality? He's certainly paid like a top QB, but he took a step back this year, from the two steps forward he took last year.

Here's a partial fear I have. The Raiders were looking to be a team on the rise last season, until they had no QBs left to guide them....and with a suspect D. One year later and they look worse. How much of this is on Del Rio is hard to say, BUT I do worry that this team will rebound next year, and get even more lift with Gruden. It may not go that way, but this team should be better, especially if they get Carr rolling again, and if they make more changes to their D.

Gruden To The Raiders Looks Official

The Raiders will sign Jon Gruden, who coached Oakland from 1998 to 2001, to a 10-year deal that will likely approach $100 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

10 year contract? Unheard of, but about to be a reality.

The Oakland Raiders will sign Jon Gruden to the longest coaching deal in NFL history -- a 10-year contract likely approaching $100 million -- when it is made official Tuesday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday.

The Raiders have called a significant news conference for Tuesday, at which time they will introduce Gruden as the team's next coach, a league source confirmed to ESPN.

Gruden, who coached Oakland from 1998 to 2001 and has been working as an ESPN analyst, is returning to the Raiders to replace Jack Del Rio, who was fired after the regular-season finale on Sunday.

ESPN reported Saturday that Raiders owner Mark Davis was prepared to pursue Gruden with a strong offer that could include an ownership stake in the team, which would have to be approved by NFL owners.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, only three current Raiders players have a contract with an average annual value of at least $10 million -- Derek Carr ($24.97 million), Kelechi Osemele ($11.7 million) and Gabe Jackson ($11 million).

The date of the official announcement was first reported by RaidersSnakepit.com.

The NFL on Friday said the Raiders have complied with the Rooney Rule in their coaching search.

"We believe the Rooney Rule was complied with. Minority candidates were interviewed," NFL executive vice president of communications Joe Lockhart said during a conference call Friday. "We'll see what decision they make."

The Raiders have not identified their candidates for the head-coaching job.

Gruden will become the 12th head coach since 1960 to have multiple stints with one team, and the 16-year gap between jobs with the Raiders is the largest in NFL history for a head coach with the same team.

He had a regular-season record of 38-26 during his first stop with the Raiders and went 2-2 in two postseason appearances prior to being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two first-round picks, two second-round picks and $8 million in 2012.

He won Super Bowl XXXVII in his first season with Tampa Bay, and he has a career 95-81 record in the regular season while going 5-4 in the postseason.

PFT speculates that Gruden and Carr will have a hard time working together because of their personalities, and the Raiders evidently have an out in the contract after 2018. Not likely, but something to keep in mind.

Also the Raiders have tied themselves to Gruden for 10 years, and his coordinators for 4 years, that's absolute insanity. This is a big swing, but there are a lot of things that could go wrong here.

                    • I think the Gruden hire will give the Raiders a spark, at least in the short term. Gruden will come with a bunch of ideas after watching and studying all 32 teams for so many years. Derek Carr will receive an infusion of football knowledge that he was not going to get from Jack Del Rio. Can the relationship sour after a while because of Gruden's personality? Yes. It just takes a small sample of videos for someone to notice how Gruden yells at everybody and rides his players hard. He's been a Mr. Nice Guy on TV because he could not burn bridges since his plan was to eventually get back in the NFL.

Gruden gives the Raiders a boost for 2018 and, unlike his situation in Tampa Bay, he already has a quality QB to coach. The marriage may fall apart down the road and the10-year deal sounds like a fairy tale in today's NFL, something just for fireworks.

It won't take Gruden long to figure how to attack Vance Joseph's defense and outcoach him on Sunday. Gruden already watched a bunch of Joseph's flawed schemes when he had to broadcast games with the Dolphins and Broncos. On the other hand, after so many years away from the NFL, collecting different ideas from all teams, what can we expect from Gruden's team? We have no idea. With Gruden coaching the Raiders and the Chiefs and Chargers looking strong, it's safe to expect the Broncos to finish dead last in the division once again in 2018.

The Broncos remain the only team in the division without a QB and no one will be surprised if Joseph is outcoached again week after week.

Yikes.....I am a little out of things and did not yet read about the length of the contract. That's nutz!!!

Hey pal....seriously, how do you feel about Gruden returning? I would hazard a guess that you are a little excited about it. Given your situation, I would be.

There's a way the other 31 teams do things and there's the way the Raiders do things! It's such a reckless, desperate gamble, but I guess that's what happens when you haven't won a SB for 35 years.
