I'm more in the court of those who think McDaniels will be at least fairly successful this time. Lets be honest, his time here was not good.....other than that amazing 6 and 0 start! But for me, he has the following positives this time:
    1) Potentially coming off back to back SB championships, and 3 in the last 4.....as OC. Not bad.
    2) Definitely has chemistry with Brady, and definitely calls a high level game plan, including intelligent adjustments as required. Sure it's Brady, but it's not all Brady. And they do it sometimes without Gronk, without Edelman, and without highly known backs.
    3) In Denver he was a bit overwhelmed, with high hopes and a bit of a macho attitude. Plus he did not have proper guidance from above. He needed a sounding board with some bite, and instead he was given too much freedom to fail.
    4) Being a HC is not an easy adjustment....the second time around with many lessons learned, and with confidence given his resume since leaving here, should help him improve to a reasonable degree.

Of course much of this has to do with having a healthy Andrew Luck.

Wasn’t it only after McNuggets was fired that Tebow saw the field?

McD burns the Colts and stays in NE!!

The Colts announced today that they had hired Josh McDaniels to be their next head coach. One problem: McDaniels still hasn’t announced that he’s taking the job.And that’s because McDaniels is not taking the job.McDaniels has decided to stay with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. That’s being passed along as stunning news, but it [more]

LOL!!!! What an jerk. Josh rescinded his acceptance. Either Belichik is retiring soon, or he found out Luck isn't playing for a looooonnnnggggg time.

I gave my reason why (above) in the Super Bowl thread.

I know this possibility has been talked about but I can't McD ever being a top coaching prospect should the situation arise after burning and thus humiliating another franchise. Add that to his poor resume after his stint here and people will look for a more serious candidate.

I'd also hate to be the guy that replaces Belichick. Honestly. That guy, whomever it is, will never ever never live up to Belichick and may well be run out of town for it. You really want to be the guy they call after that happens.

Edit, I like the Colts - nothing against them, good franchise with a proud history which has produced some great Broncos QBs

I can't find myself bothered for Irsay though...

                      What the hay????!!!!

I mean, did they not discuss the possibilities before he made his move to Indy? Did BB and Kraft and TB chip in to keep him, til lBB retires?

Have to admit....I've been supporting this dude of late, and now he pulls another one from under someone's feet!

Josh made the right call imo. Irsay is a loon, and it would've failed. Kraft wrote him a big check, and probably told him he's in line to take over for BB when he bails. Don't look now, but the Colts are scrambling lol.

McDaniels better have the HC in waiting language lined up in New England, because he's not getting another job anywhere else in the league anytime soon. It's one thing to decide against taking a job, but he's strung the Colts along for 3 weeks now, they started hiring coaches he wanted. He met with them during the SB bye week, obviously at the time they were discussing plans going forward, now this.

I agree....after The Broncos stint, some of us still felt the guy had promise. Then this happens. Bizarre! This was a done deal it appeared and then he pulls out like this???

Here's the more likely story....Belichick told him to pretend he was interested, steal all the playbooks, and then leave town.

That's what they get for trusting that turd. Hope he realizes he won't get a chance with the other 31 teams now lol
