LOL!! Kraft must have told Belicheat that since it was he who screwed the pooch in the Super Bowl and not Brady, that dang trainer is allowed full access to the facilities. And now we're going to see everyone going all Petty Roosevelt in Patriotville. Get your popcorn ready.

Dude. They already hired the assistants, and! Those assistants have been in the building breaking down film and preparing for weeks now.

Talk about a full on mess. That guy....oh my goodness lol. Wow

I'd also hate to be the guy that replaces Belichick. Honestly. That guy, whomever it is, will never ever never live up to Belichick and may well be run out of town for it. You really want to be the guy they call after that happens.

Edit, I like the Colts - nothing against them, good franchise with a proud history which has produced some great Broncos QBs

I can't find myself bothered for Irsay though...
I still don't get it. Irsay made his mistakes and he is living with it, whether it is his addiction or his comments about Peyton or whatever you are bitter about with regards to him.

But that man has given his everything to the franchise. Recently, he paid for the funerals of the killed Colts player and that deceased Uber driver with him, that man has a great heart but none of you would even bother to look it up or acknowledge that. He, unlike his Dad, has let his football guys make the decisions and never interferes like Jerry Jones.

What McDaniels did was top notch stuff. Forget just Ballard and Irsay for a moment, he did not even let any of the assistants that he said he wanted with the Colts know he was backtracking. All those guys left other prospective jobs to ink contracts with the Colts and McDaniels obviously called them. His agent obviously negotiated a contract with the Colts, the terms of the contract for McDaniels do not magically appear. A verbal agreement with proof of phone conversations to get to contract terms could be brought up as damaging to the Colts at some point in time. The Colts, to their credit, are still honoring every of those 3 contracts for those assistant coaches and DC. There is a legitimate case even if no paper work was signed by McDaniels.

Right now, the Colts will get their next HC, for their immediate order of business. But if Robert Kraft thinks this is over, it ain't over, and I am certain 31 other owners would want to put an end to this kind of behavior hurting several other coaches and a franchise at the 13th hour. Guilt by association with McDaniels, is what Kraft would have to endure in weeks down the road. It is not just the Colts, Ballard and Irsay that were impacted. It will be interesting to watch, not now but a few weeks down the road.

The news of McDaniels to Indy didn't catch Kraft off-guard. It's been out there for weeks. But the stories out today say Kraft moved in the last 48 hours. The Pats damaged the Colts. It's a TERRIBLE look for the NFL. They HAVE to do something. I don't think doing nothing is even an option. If the Patriots fans think there are 31 owners out to get him, they may get their wish on this one.

Promissory estoppel is what you need to look up.

          1. Isray is has and will always be a crazy person. Middle of the road at best NFL owner
          2. You really don't need to preach to us that McD does douchy stuff. What he pulled on you guys is rather tame compared to the crap he pulled in Denver. Y'all dodged a bullet.
          3. You have no case for damages. NFL rules clearly state that no agreement can be made until a coaches season is over. Unless he signed some sort of contract you got nothing. Sorry, but your team looks dumb for hiring asssistants and tweeting crap out before it was official
          4. Yes, there will be reform to how coaches can be hired. Either everyone will wait until after the super bowl, or can hire a coach whenever.

The Pats will have a season to forget next year, they probably won't even make the playoffs.

The wheels are coming off the little apple cart and I hope to be there to watch it burn. Brady is one hit away from forced retirement and they let Garoppolo walk. Their defense is livid over the Butler thing and Gronk might walk too. BB, TB and Kraft are not so happy with each other all of a sudden. To top it off, McD just made himself and the Pats a target of ridicule...Again. Boom!

            We can hope!

I think this is all interesting. I'm not buying what Shefty said, the reason he changed his mind was he didn't wanna move his kids.

If that was the case you would have turned the job down in early January when they(Colts)first hit you up.

Not wait till the day before they host a press conference to announce you as their coach. Which was the Colts plan. They planned to announce Josh today.

All of this was a done deal. They picked and signed the assistants for Josh. They marked their calendar for a press conference to announce him.

And just like a bride being left at the alter, Colts got left.

I agree with the belief that he stayed because Bill is out. Before the Super Bowl there was talks in sports media that McDaniels might stay in New England if Bill retires and he(McDaniels) can be head coach.

Kraft had to had hit up Josh and told him Bill is either done or won't be brought back.

Either way the rest of the league likely lost a lot of respect if they had any, for McDaniels.

And if Bill really is done, Pats fans could be in for a long season for the wrong reasons.

I don't know. As long as Belichick and Brady are in New England, they will most likely continue to win their division and make the playoffs as a division champ. They were 5-1 in their division last year. We have yet to see Buffalo, Miami or the Jets show any sign of being competitive with NE.

What you think will happen eventually. When it does, what will we do without all our friendly Pats fans?

Right. If Belichick is out in New England, and McDaniels becomes HC, it may be over sooner rather than later. Maybe Indy can get Bill?

That would be hysterical if Irsay could turn around and nuke Kraft for burning the Colts.

I think you are right for the most part. The party is coming near end and the participants are getting unglued. Just like there have been some "arguments" of late over Jimmy G / other, I believe losing the Coordinators might have been another source of discontent among the threesome. Whatever, I have been more supportive of McDaniels in his future than many others, only because I gave him credit for pairing so well with Brady to get the most out of that O. But this maneuver was amateur. You didn't know this before you were prepared to take the job??? No wonder this guy is not popular outside NE!

                        Yes.....

Terrible way to leave an organization hanging! Only a few reasons were justified to do so, and I haven't heard one of them.

McDaniels should never get another HC offer outside NE.

I say that because I think Father time smacks Brady in the face this year ala PM's rapid decent. Diet and conditioning will only do so much when you're getting smacked around a lot. His target gets bigger and slower every day...The Linebackers are getting faster!

Their Division does suck I'll grant you that. Miami and Buffalo are showing signs of life though, good defenses too.

Mostly though, the relationships seem to be deteriorating from the top down. Couldn't of happened to nicer guys...

It’s all a conspiracy. Belicheat and Kraft set this all in motion after Deflategate. This is all a master plan cooked up over three years. Executed perfectly by the Patriots*.

Will the world finally admit that McDaniels is a total piece of crap?? There were people even here who wanted him back in Denver for some sick reason.

The NFL world will be a better place when the evil empire of McDaniels, BB, and Brady are finally gone.
